You must add 5 1/2 quarts of oil to possibly 6 quarts to it this is very much required but I'm positive only 5 quarts do not over fill the motor it can blow the engine or burn the piston rings because either too much or less is added
I am not sure, but, I believe 4 quarts. Try a classic car website, they should have a better answer for you. I do remember that Roadmaster had an oil starvation problem and they can help with that also.
The dealers generally use 5W30 ,irrespective of you geographical location.Its also the recommend oil in your service book.I have a 330d and it uses same oil.
If you are installing a new compressor,look on the box or on a sticker on the unit to make sure it does not have oil already installed.But it calls for 8 oz.This seems a little mutch to me.I would put no more than 6oz...Good Luck!!!
Try a dry or powder lubricant in bobin case ,not to mutch ! You must try and remove plastic on right side ,to get to working parts ,do not spray on sensors!
