On the 790R you will have to remove the carburetor and the four screws of the plastic housing behind it. The gas tank will then slip out.You will need to replace both the housing and carburetor gaskets.

Hope this is of some help, Lamar

Weedeater blower will not prime

The primer bulb sucks fuel from the tank to the carb. When the carb has enough fuel the remainder is sent back to the tank. When you replaced the fuel line did you use the exact length of line and did you re-install the filter. On some of the trimmers the filter is weighted and holds the line in the fuel. Good luck...Lee

My weedeater starts but doesnt seem to be getting enough fuel

Hi,
You can't clean the filter. You can however order a new filter with the filter attached from www.ryobi.com.
When you say it's not getting enough gas is the weedeater shutting off on you? If so your carb may need to be clean. If that's the case then report back and I can tell you how to do that.
Good luck!

What is the correct fuel mix for the ryobi 790R trimmer?

The window ratio should be fine between 40/1 to 50/1.

Reduce oil ratio by increase gas part if some unburned oil can visible from the exhaust.

Someone else could have a better voice on this matter..

Ryobi 790r trimmer has low power and stalls

Maybe a quick fix and maybe not
check your muffler the factory puts a spark arrestor screen that tends to plug after awhile
there is a little plate on the side muffler that needs to be removed to access the screen you may need a torx bit or allen wrench to remove
you may have to remove the back half of the plastic cover to access the screws
remove screen and clean with carb. cleaner or equivalent make sure you can see through it and reverse the procedure to put it back

Ryobi 790r gas trimmer

I can think of three possible causes that would be a good place to start looking:
- clogged tank ventilation, causing vacuum in the tank during use (check for this when opening the gas tank cap, you should hear a "suction sound" and the engine should prime and start afterwards)
- clogged fuel filter
- fuel filter/ fuel hose is not moving freely inside the gas tank causing it to **** air in some operating positions.

Good luck!
