What does error code 188 mean?

It means that your fuel temp. sensor is reading high. It either is not grounded properly or it failed. Check for 5 volt at 1 of the wires and good ground on the other..if ground and reference is ok, replace sensor.

P0174 error code on 2005 Expedition with 5.4 V8

The parts you replaced could be defective. You mentioned codes but only specified P0174. Probable causes for generation of a P0174 code include:
1. Sensor or solenoid faulty
2. Damaged or corroded connector terminal(s)
3. Wire harness. Check for voltage, open, short to ground or short to voltage
4. Control unit in need of updating
5. PCM or ECM faulty
6. Lean fuel mixture
7. Fuel pressure. Check pump, regulator, filter, and lines

F3 error. Beeping wont stop.

Hi miketack,

If your Dacor is getting an F3 error code and wont stop beeping this is because of shorted oven temperature sensor or RTD. You can fix this by checking sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. In case that wiring is ok you need to replace oven temperature sensor (RTD). You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Just get your model number ready when you call.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Error code po171- system too lean bank 1 error code po137- downstream, left bank downstream & pre-catalyst 02 sensor shorted to ground

Description : The adaptive fuel Strategy continuously monitors fuel delivery hardware. The test fails when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit. Now that we have an Idea of what the codes mean , we need to narrow them down. More than likely the problem is causing both codes to set. Keeping this in mind, lets concentrate on Code PO1309. Of the possible causes listed above I see two Sensors that may throw up a lean code. I would look at the MAF Sensor first and then the Temp Sensor. You may find that if you remove the internal Sensor from the MAF Case that some degree has collected on the thin wire. If you find debree, use a Q-Tip to clean it. DO NOT USE CHEMICALS TO CLEAN IT. If no debree is found, try a Known Good MAF Sensor. Still no fix, move on to testing the rest of the Sensors on the list till you find the problem. Keep in mind that the check engine light will have to be cleared after you have fixed the problem.

To display what is wrong: turn off the ignition, press and hold the "A" button and turn the ignition back on. Than release the "A" button. The main display now shows "EFI", and the smaller display shows the error code.
