Bike ldles OK with choke on.once it reaches operating tempeture the idle will drop to half the idle speed. When I ride for awhile the idle would go back to it's normal idle, about 1000rpm.

How do i adjust my holley carb on my f350 460 it has no pulling power after 55 mph and it wasnt pulling that heavy of a load when it started to drag

The screws are to adjust the idle mixture and speed. They have no effect on the motor at 55 MPH. To adjust the idle mixture
lower the idle speed to the lowest speed and slowly turn one screw in and out until you reach maximum rpm and then move on the another.

How do i bring my idle rpm down on my 2002 cam 88

Ensure that the engine is warmed up to normal operating temperature and the enrichener knob is pushed all the way in BEFORE adjusting engine idle speed. It is possible for a properly warmed up engine to idle above the normal idle range of 950-1050 RPM with the enrichener knob pulled PARTIALLY OUT. If the bike has no tachometer attach one or attach a DIGITAL MULTIMETER equipped with an RPM INDUCTIVE PICKUP over front spark plug cable to monitor engine RPM. Then start the motorcycle engine and let it run until it reaches normal operating temperature with enrichener knob pushed fully in (enrichener closed). Then set the idle speed to 950-1050 RPM using a special CARBURETOR IDLE ADJUSTER and tip. Turn clockwise to increase idle speed and turn counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. The throttle stop screw in on the right or front side of the CV carb.

I turn on ignition and vehicle starts to idle real high seems like accelarator cable is sticking

Hi Clucas, If you're talking about a cold engine, the vehicle is fitted with an automatic 'up idle' system. Depending on how cold the ambient temperature is. The colder it is outside the higher the idle, until the engine reaches normal operating temp. The engine should then settle down to the correct idle speed. If however the cold start raises the speed to more than 1350, have a scan carried out. If the idle speed is always at a high rpm, do the same.A leakage of air into the intake manifold can also cause the latter problem. A leakage however will not be evident via a scan. I need to tune up my saw but I can't find my owner's manual. It won't idle. Need to know how to adjust the low speed. It runs well but my low speed idle won't adjust to make it keep running.

The theory is much the same on all chainsaw carbs, start and warm the machine up, increase the idle speed with the idle screw if it will not tick over, start to turn the L screw in, the revs will increase as the mixture leans off, it will reach a point where it is too lean and start to die, at that point turn the screw out 1/4 turn, check it revs up clean, if not turn screw out bit at a time until it does, now set the idle speed with the idle screw. Before attempting this make sure the fuel filter is clean, and also the air filter.

I seem to be going through a lot of gas in a short period of time. I have 3 adjustment screws on my Homelite XL 10515A chainsaw. which one controls the fuel flow and which one the idle speed

Two of the screws are fuel related: H = high speed and L = slow speed. The third is idle speed and is a limit stop for the throttle lever. Turn both mixture screws in CW to stop (lightly), and back out CCW 1-1/2 turns each. Start with H needle after engine warm-up. Open the throttle full and adjust CW until you reach highest speed with 4-stroking, but smooths out when cutting lightly. Allow to idle, and adjust L needle CW for smooth idle, but rich enough to allow engine to follow the throttle. Adjust idle speed screw to allow the chain to stop turning. Make sure to clean the air cleaner before this procedure.

Carburator tune up of charadade 1992 sedan. The engine is running too fast while idle at 1200 r.p.m.

Before you start check the status of your choke. One that is stuck on will cause a high idle. If the choke checks out, proceed to the following:

You should have what's called a 2 needle carburetor. A larger screw adjustment for idle, and a smaller for high speed.

Start by adjusting your low speed (idle) needle until you reach the desired idle. I prefer about 850rpms. Do this with the engine running and adequately warmed so that your adjustments are not thrown off by the automatic choke.

Next slowly open up the high speed needle. As you open it your idle speed will gradually increase. Adust it in 1/8 turn increments, pausing after each adjustment to allow the changes to take affect. Keep opening it until you stop increasing your rpms, then take it back 1/8 of a turn.

Next readjust your idle mixture screw so that your idle is back down to 850rpms.
