My 04 vstar 1100 classic seems as if the rear cylinder is not putting out as much power as the leading cylinder

unless you have a misfire on the rear cylinder and as the two run of the same crank shaft this statement would be hard to pinpoint
Have a compression done on the engine to determine a drop in pressures
move the front injector (EFI) to the rear
if EFI have the fault codes read
IF carbureted with with a carby for each pot have the carbies tuned professionally
have the bike run a on a bike dyno for a power test

Bike was running great on saturday. Went to the races bike started right up when the gate dropped bike won't rev out all the way. Didn't have this problem yesterday. When we got home i cleaned the car

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely drained or faulty battery.
2. Faulty regulator/rectifier or high output coil.
3. Faulty power valve, solenoid or installation.
4. Clogged air filter or exhaust.
5. Cracked or incorrect float level.
6. Float needle is not seating.
7. Faulty reed valve.

Hi, Anonymous for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. I got the bike rode for a while it sat for a couple of weeks and when I tried to start it it was dead. I tried getting the battery charged and it didn't work. I got a new battery and that worked for about...

If the bike is losing ALL power, I'm talking about dash lights, headlight, tail light, ALL lights, it's probably something tripping the main breaker. The breaker should be located either under the seat or behind the trianglular panel on the right side of the bike. I'd look for a frayed wire near the starter or around the rear cylinder due to the head in that area.

Good Luck

You bike is missing on one cylinder. Since it comes and goes, it could be a spark plug or plug lead. This is the easiest solution, but there could also be a problem with the fuel injection system. Fit new plugs and test the plug leads. If the problem still exists, have the fuel injection system checked out.

Problem starting/ one cylinder or spark plug drop out.

It sounds like you have a problem with your ignition. I would suggest replacing the spark plug wires because they are not insulating the power dischage from the elements. I have had issues like this and I usually have the bike in a garage with the garage lights off, have the bike running and mist the engine with a spray bottle. The blue arc of the power discharge is very visible and the location will be evident. Hope this helps.
