It could be the brake pedal switch is corroded internally and needs to be replaced and could be the front brake switch needs to be cleaned by spraying WD40 or contact cleaner directly into the switch and working the lever..

Brakelight does not work

1. If only one of the 3 brake lights isn't working, replace that lamp.
2. If all 3 brake lights aren't working, AND THE HORN ISN"T WORKING, see page 216 of the 2005 Honda Element Owners Manual. Fuse #7 in the underhood fuse box, labelled horn/stop is probably blown. (Cruise control is also probably out).

Brake light won't work

The connection is cut somewhere, possibly its not getting signal that the brakes are pressed. Fuses in the fuse box, check them all. if they are fine, and the bulb is fine, then you need to check and follow the wireing to find the fault.

When I step on the brake the cruise control will not disengage

There are 2 switches at the brake pedal. 1 is the brakelight switch & the other is the cruise disengage switch. Possibly 2 faulty switches but you should diagnose first. Check brake light fuse, then disconect brakelight switch, bridge plug brakelight switch if lights come on = faulty switch, check globes

96crown vic brakelights out

check the fuses in the fuse box.then you can try the signal lights to check the lights on the back.if they work then the bulbs are good.then check the brake switch on the bottom of the colume near the firewall.its not uncommon for a wire to brake and cause a problem.

I cant read the fuse box as its in japanese. I am looking for the brake light fuse!

one way to find out which is the brakelight fuse us with the car turn off. have an assistant depress the bake pedal then releasing it. While they do that use a volmeter with one lead to the ground while the other end pokes the top of the fuse with the metallic part. The fuse the gets 12volt reading when the brake is depressed is the brake light fuse. When the brakes are released, the 12volt should not be present.

have you checked for a box under the hood on the drivers side, consisting of relays and fuses. i would check for a brake light relay switch, or brake light fuse, hope that this information has been helpful to you.

Hi. 2003 Camry. All 3 brakelights won't work. All other lights are fine. I suspect the brake switch by the brake pedal is bad. Where is it, what does it look like, how do I get to it? Thank you for...

Chances are that it is the fuse. Look in the fuse box. Use the diagram inside the fuse box to locate the fuse. Use the provided fuse puller to remove the fuse. Check to make sure the wire inside is not burned in two. There may be two fuse boxes. Look in your owners manual for the locations.

I have a 2001 Subaru Outback wagon, LL Bean Edition. I just noticed that the left rear brakelight, tail light and blinker light do not work. I replaced the brakelight bulb but the brakelight does not...

Owners manuel chapter 11 & 12 should show you the fuse box placement and layout..there are two fuse boxes, inside behind the coin holder to the left of the steering wheel, slide out the holder..I believe #5 on the fuse box is the fuse for tail/brake lights. Also under the hood in the engine compartment on drivers side there is the main fuse box.
