Either a stuck valve (unlikely) or more than likely someone let the bike set up too long with old gas in carbs....If that is the case the low speed jets have to be removed out of the carbs & cleaned...

Miss at idle

Replace the old fuel with fresh..make sure its completely warmed up, and take it for another ride. See what it does then.
Might need the carbs cleaned again, sometimes it take a few times and get the service manual for it it will help you a lot you can download it from the below link:

1998 honda valkylrie exhaust popping at idle and sounds like its missing on accel and on cold start

Could be as simple as the carbs need adjusted or there could be air leaking between carbs and heads (intake manifold).
Does it run good once it is warmed up, or does it continue to pop? If it continues to pop, I would try for air leaks around the intake area. If no leaks, adjust carbs.

I have a 1980 honda goldwing 1100,it runs real rough on take off but at higher speeds its fine. any sugestions

spark plugs, when you are going slower, the spark plug missing makes a big differense because the engine needs every pop from it to take off, when the engine is coasting, one miss is not as noticeable because the pistons aree moving fast enought to catch the next pop in time,

There should be a small bracket that sits over the actuator arm and is screwed into the cases. This is what holds it in place and keeps it from popping up

1978 Shovelhead has a miss or backfires through the carb at slower speeds. Runs fine over 50 mph. Changed intake O ring gaskets, still pops and misses at slower speeds.

Make sure your hotwire to the coil is making a good connection. Check air intake manifold for air leak - o-rings can be tricky to get installed correctly. Finally, change carburator jet to richer mixture. Popping backk through the carb means lean fuel mixture.
