Question about 2000 Yamaha XV 125 - S
My Virago xv125s keeps cutting out whenever it rains! In the dry its perfect. Thought it was carb at first but mechanic has checked that and filters and leads and sparks and cannot find anything wrong even after complete service.
I have the same problem - the coil get's soaked when it rains.
WD40 fixed mine too

I had the same problem with mine. Its a dodgy ignition coil i found a spray of wd40 on it would fix it for a while by driving out the moisture. I've since put a piece of plastic bag around it which helps alot. Should really give in and buy a new coil though

This happened to me when water used to get to my battery, this was due to poor fairing design, however i recently customised the battery housing , its now water proof and ive also gone around all the male/female connectors i could find and water proofed them with electrical tape just to be safe. Ive since ridden in the rain with no problems.
