SOURCE: Right foot pedal doesn't light tail light when

More than likely, the problem is the rear brake pressure switch. Find the rear brake master cylinder and follow the metal line that comes out of the back of it until you come to a switch with two sets of wires connected to it. This is the pressure switch. To replace it, simply screw the old one out and screw the new one in. Do not press the foot pedal with the old switch removed. You should not even have to bleed the brake if you do it right. Have the new switch ready to screw in before you take the old one out. One out the other one right back in.

Good luck

SOURCE: rewired tail light with new

Sounds like to me that you don't have something wired correctly. Take the wires for the brake light loose and check for voltage. You should have no voltage on this wire unless one of the brake switches has been made or you have a short circuit. I'm assuming the brake light worked correctly before installing the new tail light assembly.

Good Luck
Steve

2011 Mercury Milan LED tail light out

Yes, I have a 2011 Milan as well and both sides of mine went out. One last year (2013) and the other side recently. My car is no longer under warranty and the dealer said they it would be $417 to repair. Ford needs to fix this issue because from what I have been reading it is a common problem and it is a safety issue!

LED does'nt work on tail light but conventional bulb is working

Your description indicates the replacement led bulb is either defective or not a direct replacement for the ordinary bulb, which I assume is a 2-filament stop/tail type because if you have a good ground and both supplies are present as indicated by the fact the ordinary bulb worked fine, the led should similarly work if it is good.

I suggest you check the supply voltages while the led is fitted. It might happen that some device in the lighting circuit is monitoring the amount of current or resistance of each bulb and will not provide a supply unless it "sees" the correct amount.

Right brake light out 2004 Prius

Th other post is incorrect, the 2004 has LED brake lights that are part of the tail light assembly. you have to replace the whole assy. There are two screws that hold the assy in, they are both covered by white cable clips. The clips just pull off and then you can use a 10mm wrench to remove the nuts on the screws. My brake light stopped working and during the removal, the LEDs started working again, hopefully you will find the same situation as the LEDs are supposed to last for years.

Replacement LED Tail Light assembly - Check light Brake and tail light failures

I have never heard of this particular problem however my experience has taught me that generally with led's you have to make sure you have a good clean ground. led's draw more amprage in the circuit and if the ground is weak it will back feed this is what is most likely setting off the fault light. a quick fix is to just add a ground to the harness. hard wire a white 12 gauge wire to the main harness on both sides and then you can connect the wire to the metal of the trunk with self tapping metal screws. this will give you a good clean ground. this will do the trick....
