Question about 2003 Harley Davidson XL 1200 C Sportster Custom
Posted by Anonymous on
Hi Anonymous, could be a fuel problem, but more than likely it's an ignition problem. First remove the spark plugs and check their condition, electrodes should be clean dry and have a lite tan color. If they look good put one in a plug wire, make sure the run/stop button is in the run position, ground the plug threads on bare metal like a cylinder fin and crank over the engine. If you get spark your ignition system is ok, and I would train my focus on the fuel system, is fuel getting to the carb ect. If you have no spark try retrieving a trouble code to point you in the right direction. If you are unfamiliar with this procedure go to http://www.fuelmotousa.com/harleycodes.html Good luck
