Where do I find headlight relay switch on a 85 Nissan extended cab p/u

Pretty sure there is no relay for the headlights. There are two 10 amp fuses in the fuse block, one for each side headlight. The power to the fuses is directly off the black fusible link (in your fuse link box, under hood, by the battery). Then the fused wires go into the headlight switch, and with switch on, out to the head lamps.

First check if the fuses have power to them. Hot at all times, so key can be off. If they have power, fuse link is good, so possibly a bad headlight switch or dimmer switch if no headlights..

WHY PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT BULB ON 2007 YUKON DENALI WILL NOT WORK

Remove plug from light bulb, using 12 volt test light hook up ground to negative side of battery, then touch probe on positive terminal to make sure test light is functional.next- turn lights on and then probe the plug at each terminal- there should be one wire that has power and the test light should light up. If the test light lights up then you need to test the circuit ground for the wiring harness. So remove the test light clamp and put it on the positive post of the battery. Now retest the test light by touching the probe on the negative post on the battery and the test light should light up. Next with the headlights off-probe the other terminals and if there is a good ground in the harness the light will light up- if not then there is an open condition in the headlight harness- a broken wire or a bad system ground. If both tests are performed and either condition does not happen then a wiring schematic will be needed to perform the repair. This is after all fuses are presumed good.

Engine cranks but won't start. No headlights or tail lights domelights or under hood lights

Check all your fuses. The fuse for your fuel pump,. If fuse is ok, Turn key onto the acc position and listen for your fuel pump. You should hear it hum. You also have fuel relays, but I'm still wondering why you are blowing fuses for all that together. May be a bad ground or direct short. Check fuses then get back to me please. and dont forget to rate my solution thanks

Cub Cadet riding mower SLTX 1050 just quit.

The fuses are usually located under the dash. Either right over the battery, right on top in the center or on the right side near the bottom by the starter solonoid. There are 2 fuses. One main fuse ( 20 amp) and one fuse for the electric clutch ( 30 amp).
However a blown fuse will not cause the motor to quit running. If the engine cranks and if you have dash lights then the main fuse is good. If the main is good and you can hear the PTO click when you pull the switch out then the PTO fuse is good also.
The charging system is a 2 phase stator. One wire is out from the stator is AC and powers the headlights. The other wire is rectified to DC and charges the battery. If the headlight wire came loose and grounded to the framwe it did no damage at all since it goes directly to ground after the headlight bulbs anyway. Just plug it back in and secure it.

Jonway 125 Aventure headlight not working

Hi, Vpgold76 if your headlight is not working, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil.
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

High beams work low beams do not

you don`t say if you have checked the fuses for the headlights.if the fuses are okay and you know that the low beam filaments are working.you may have to feed power and ground directly to the proper headlight prongs from the battery to make sure the bulbs are good.then it could be a relay for the low beams or a switch for the headlights.you don`t say if you have daytime running lights on this car as there is a module for this system that may be the problem for the now low beams.

Low beam head lights not working - The low beams, both stopped working. The high beams work fine. I checked the fuses and all 4 are good. I even swapped the low and high beam fises just in case. No...

if the fuses are good then you need to check for power and ground at the headlight plug that attaches to the headlight bulb if you have a good power and ground there and the connections are good then the bulbs are both no good.or if you can tell the bulbs are burnt out by looking at them then you don`t have to check powers and grounds.you also can directly feed power and ground to the bulb and check both the terminals for high beam and low beam as you cannot tell which is which by looking at the terminals

I have a 1997 Virago 1100 my headlight quit working. I checked it directly to the battery to make sure the headlight is good & it is. The fuse is good but no voltage coming out of headlight receptical....

did you check the ground were the light plugs into the wiring harness ?
strip the hot wire and check before the plug ... also may want to check ground on unpainted surface..
hope this helps

Half of electrics stopped working but yet the fuses are okay

Time to do a wiggle test of the fuse box wiring. The circuits mentioned are not directly connected , but may travel through common wiring plugs. Try the fuse box fuses again (there may be more than 1 fusebox) Interior light / Radio / Antenna / Clock may be on a battery circuit but not connected to the Fog light not the turn signals other than a connecctor plug or simular.

Headlight wont work all other lights good tail, gauge, indicators etc new bulbs. How is the h/light delay controlled.PLEASE HELP READY TO PULL OUT MY HAIR

A couple of ideas off the top of my head:
  1. I believe the headlight has a dedicated fuse. If it fails, all the other lights continue to work.
  2. High/low relay fuse? See http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-streetbikes-sportbikes/78673-zx7-headlights-wont-turn-95-zx7.html
  3. Occasionally, the headlights will appear to have failed if the starter button sticks, since pressing the starter button kills the lights to direct more battery power to the starter. WD-40 is the short term cure for this.
My two cents, hope it helps.
