You need to locate your fuse box in order to safely connect any accessory to your bike. Your fuse box will have, on the cover, the location and function of each fuse. ONLY CONNECT TO THE ACCESSORY FUSE!!! connecting to any other fuse may affect the runability of your bike. There is a product called something like add a fuse, which can easily be added to your fuse box to give you the proper connections for a new accessory if there is not already a screw or blade connector provided. Only connect the positive ( red) wire - run the ground ( black) wire to an existing ground on the bike or the battery.
Hope this helps!

I crossed the pos and neg terminals while jump starting my bike and now nothing happens when the key is turned on. What happened?

You have probably killed the battery and all the electronics on the bike. Get the bike checked by a qualified bike technician/electrician.

Where is the fuse box on a 05 gsxr 600

Observe the bikes battery compartments where fuse boxes is embedded. Ascertain that bike least requires loosening compartments either next to gasoline tanks or below compartments that protect engines.

The bike will not start at all, the lights don't even come on. I took the bike out to go to work and the lights came and all of a sudden it just turned off, I disconnected the battery and reconnected and...

Have you checked your fuses? I would check your fuse box for bad fuse/fuses. Check your owners manual for fuse box location, I think it's under the front fairing, and check for bad fuses. That is your best first start for bike just dying.

Electrical wireing harnes pinched or short circut blown out 30 amp fuse way out there for this problem big time safety issue kills power to bike

Yes, I've seen complete meltdowns of the entire wiring harnesses before. You're lucky you just blew a fuse. Now you've been given a warning that something is wrong and that you need to locate the problem. I've seen some older bikes that didn't have a fuse or circuit breaker in the wiring harness actually catch on fire because of a short.

Now, depending on what make and model of your bike is, determnes where you need to look. I work mostly on Harley's as that's what I've been working with since 1966. I find Harley's simplier to work on as they don't change as often as the Japanese bikes do. If your bike has a fuse box and it's not blowing any fuses other than the main fuse, the problem is most likely between the battery and that main fuse box. You really need to find a schematic of the wiring on your bike. Good Luck!

1997 yamaha yzf 600r electrical problems

a jump box is nothing more then a battery with leads on it so where are you connecting it verses the new battery you put in the bike. that doesn't make since unless you are connecting the box right to the starter motor then it be constently running the motor untill you unhooked it. check all your fuses and examine all wire harnesses for damage, burns, or any mellting.
