SOURCE: 2003 rear brake caliper lock up on a harley sportster

Check your pads to make sure they are in the right position and haven't started to wear too thin and move.
Check the operation of the pads is real smooth when you apply pressure on the lever (might need someone else to operate it while you look ).
Witth the rear wheel raised off the ground and the bike not running turn the wheel slowly and check to see if it warped. (I used to do this on my sportster by using a couple of car axle stands under the footpeg brackets and raising the bike up on an old hydraulic car jack - might not be the best way but it worked enough for me to get the rear wheel off to change tyres without spending a fortune-an extra pair of hands is really handy(!) here).
Look down the rear caliper and check that no **** from the road has got stuck in there anywhere.
check your wheel alignment - have you adjusted the belt lately or latered the set-up?
Hope something here helps!

SOURCE: 82 harley sportster brake light

try starting with the bulb. brake light bulbs are dual fillament, meaning you have 2 bulbs in one basicly. if your brake side has blown then the tail light could still work. Or try checking the brake light switches, one on front brake and one on rear brake pedal. to test switches disconect wires and join them together with small bit of wire or paper clip. this will make the light come on meaning you have a bum switch.
if you have only been using the rear brake, that has an adjustable switch, may need to mess with it

SOURCE: 2007 sporster turn signals flasher , bike wont start

He's right! The key fob for the security system needs a clear signal to the module to disarm the bike. That's why the flashers turn on. If the fob is at the bike, the security module has lost it's memory, or the antenna for the key fob reception is not connected. You also need to squeeze the clutch lever to allow the engine to engage also...new safety feature i think for 07. Hope this helps.

05 harley sportster signals flash 6 times, won't start, diconnected batery, reconnected got d1a9 code

With a TSM if the four-way flashers flash 6 times shortly after the ignition switch is turned to ON you should check for DTC's that have been set. d1a9 is not a 2005 Sportster code.

'05 1200 custom: left rear turn signal/brake light

Your bike is not equipped with the old style "flasher" like they used to be back in the '80's. You bike has what Harley calls a Turn Signal Microprocessor. It's a "black box" about a half inch thick by an inch and half wide by three inches long. It has a large plug with about a dozen wires on one end and a mounting bolt in the center of it. Exactly where it is, I have no idea as Harley moved these things around as much as they did the oil drain on the Sportsters. Underneath the battery is a bad place for anything, especially electrical components. The faint clicking sound you're hearing may be a circuit breaker. By the signals flashing very rapidly, this would indicate a high current flow that may be caused by a short circuit.

Good Luck

Speedo, turn signals, brake lights, horn stopped working. All else is fine.

Gap your plugs to 38 thou. Check all your bulbs (one burned out will affect the rest) Take a look at all your fuses and make sure they are all ok. Otherwise you are probably looking at a wiring short which will require trouble shooting of the elctrical system. Buy your self a service manual for your bike, this will help you a lot.
