Remove the controls and insulate the exposed wire from contact with the handle bar.

Have you tested the battery? You may have a bad starter solinoid.
Or a relay from ignition to the starter solinoid. And or bad connections to starter solinoid. The solinoid can be tested if the
battery is good, by a jumper from positive to the small terminal that controls the internals of the solinoid.

1996 road king FLHRI clutch cable grounds out, gets very hot, bike wont start unless cable is detached from handlebars. ???????

YOU HAVE A BRAIDED CLUTCH LINE? PROBABLY A WIRE IN THE HANDEL BARS OR HAND CONTROLS IS SHORTING OUT INSIDE THE HANDLE BARS.AND I WOULD CHECK ALL THE GROUND CABLES AND WIRES.

Just put in a new Battery thinking it would solve my no power issue. I've tried everything, New battery, tightened all wire adapters, checked all fuses (good) but it still does not get any power. Lights...

first check the kill switch located on right side handle bar and make sure it is in the run position. if that checks out then connect a wire from the + side of the battery to the headlight fuse then the bike should start, if it still wont crank use a screwdriver to cross the solinoid terminals and start your bike. this is a temporary fix called "hot wire" and should at least get you riding again.

Hi i have a yamaha wr 250f 2002 model, it starts cold fine but it won't start hot I always have to roll start it, what do you think my problem is? note that the resistance in the coil and cap is around 20...

okish? make sure they are OK.
possibly too rich, buy a new airfilter element, and adjust the air screw when it is hot, (turn out, anticlockwise half turn) if this doesnt help you should turn it back in the half turn.
you could also lower the needle by raising the clip one notch
take notes of what you do so you can change it back if it doesnt work

Newly installed Price Pfister single valve knob is hard to turn on and hard to shut off.

Is newly installed a phrase for under 6 months? If this is a faucet that is about 3 months old, it could either be hard water (possible debris) or a control valve failure. I would suggest you turn it in for a warranty correction. If that is not an option, your best bet is to shut off the hot and cold water underneath the sink, remove the handle and dismantle down to the valve cartridge. Remove and replace the cartridge. If this fixes it, make a written note as to when it was done. If the problem returns again in a short time, it's something coming through your water and will continue to give you grief. In that case, buy a two handle faucet and forget the fancy fixture.

How do the corner lights switch on.can not find a switch

Hi and welcome to fixya,

The corner light switches on if and only if you switch the signal light (left handle bar) to left or right. pushing it on the center will deactivate it. well this is the basic for most bikes. I don't know if your bike has the same mechanism. Getting back to the topic. The corner lights will also turn on when you push the hazard button. this is with the triangle sign. Locate it either on top of the left handle bar or the right handle bar.

To answer your question further, the corner lights switch is controlled electronically or mechanically through a relay or contactor switch. This makes the ticking sound whenever you activate it.

Hope this helps

Car has power and wont turn over when i start it it just ticks

the most probale cause is a bad starter solinoid, or low voltage at starter. check starter solinoid.

Bike wont start , shorted out

they two comments above me are right, you have two sets of fuses on your bike. one set is either near your handle bars or under your seat. the other set is basicaly relays under the back left of your bike, there you will find one regular fuse next to the relays which is for your ignition and starter. I would check that fuse almost certain it poped.
