I have a 2002 Volkwagen Passat 1.8t 5-Speed that has 98k on it. I just took about a 3 hour trip with it yesterday, and it ran beautifully the whole time (I've never had a problem with my VW). As soon as I got home, however, I turned off the car and started unpacking, and when I went back out to move my car in the driveway, i turned the key, and nothing. All the lights work just fine, the alarm, everything. We even checked the battery (it had a full charge as always) and gave it a jump just in case it really was the battery. Unfortunately, nothing. When i go to turn the key, no flicker in the lights, no clicking, nothing. I have no idea of what it could be.
Sounds like a faulty wire,possible on the ignition circuit or faulty battery leads.

The battery and assembly was just replaced about 2 months ago (was annoying to find the right sized battery, but it worked out just fine). What would have caused the wires to go out? It started up right away many time yesterday, and it was fine.
