Hi Anonymous, no that's not really possible, unless your missing the o-ring at the end of the cable where it goes into the transmission cover, which would be obvious by the oil leak at said junction. No the only plausable senario is your vent fitting on the left hand side of the transmission top cover is missing it's hose that should be attached and routed down towards the ground. If wash your bike alot with a water hose or pressure washer or ride in the rain alot, well you get the picture. Also if you are missing or have a broken top cover bolt water can easily find its way to the bottom of your tranny. Good luck

Well it could be the adjuster for the cable is worn down as well as the clutch plate is warped and if that's not your problem than check out the drive shaft and transfer carrier to see if it's not full of trans fluid or laying on a slant inside the bell mount of the transmission

Stuck clutch

does this one still uses cable or hydrovac already?
if still on cable, then you will need to remove your transmission and loosen your gearbox.
if on hydrovac, replace clutch master/slave first.

PrEngine is running, gearbox linkage can be seen moving looking down from engine - when driver puts lever into gear, gearbox not engaging - with or without clutch applied. Possible areas which could...

Unfortunately the problem will need investigating. There must be a problem with the flywheel / clutch assembly or the gearbox itself. The fact that you can move the gear linkage indicates that there is no drive in the gearbox ( ie not turning). The only items that effect this are the clutch / flywheel assembly or the primary shaft in the gearbox.
The gearbox will have to be removed and the above checked.

Ive replaced clutch and gear lever cables but it still is stiff going down throught the gears also had new gearbox on a j2 lantra

1. replace your gear oil.
2. is this an automatic or manual transmission engine? if manual, adjust your clutch release a little higher than usual to let your clutch engange earlier.

Vw golf Mk3 VR6 gearbox/cooling system

I don't know where your leak is happening but I suspect the transmission fluid attacks rubber and may be leaking from the heater because of softened hoses.
I think the first move I would make is to buy a Haynes or Chilton service manual and spend some time researching how the transmission and cooling systems are related. The books are available at auto parts stores (or on line of course) and cost between $17-$30 US.
