SOURCE: 2005 dyna wide glide...fuel injected...have engine

This could be a result from a couple of different things however if your vibration is at idol and has and keeps getting worse it is proably one of the motor mounts. These can very difficult to see so if you remove one there is a thin lip above the rubber and metal bracket and if that is not there then the mount is no good

SOURCE: engine vibration,new motor mounts,and stabilizier,94dwg help!

Ok, that's better. This is an engine that has run well before but now something is wrong.

I could be a magnet on the stator but usually they'll make a loud knocking noise. But one magnet could have come loose and simply moved. The only way to find out is to pull the primary and the stator. It's much easier to do on that bike than it is a Shovelhead in that you do not have to pull the inner primary. If you find this to be the problem and you replace the rotor, make sure you check the rotor for good magnetism. Don't laugh, we installed on a few weeks ago and the alternator would not generate any electricity. Turned out the rotor magnets didn't have enough magnetism. You could tell by holding a screwdriver to the magnets, the new one just didn't hold the screwdriver like it should have. Installed the old rotor, everything was fine. Harley had a problem with a batch of them and they don't know where they're all at so check it out before you install it.

Also, with that many miles on the bike, you need to check the motor mounts, both front and rear. The rubber will seperate from the metal parts of the mount. Check the upper stabilizer link as well. Check the primary chain adjustment as well.

As long as the engine is running properly and not making a noise or missing, this is the only thing I can think of at the moment.

Good Luck with it.
Steve

BTW: I've got a '94 Wide Glide. I love it. Wouldn't trade it for a brand new Softail.

It can be plugs. Now, if the bike has set for 6 months or more, the gas can be bad. You might want to try and use some type of fuel treatment.

Check the front brake pads and discs. The pads for any stones in them and the discs for any warping.

the only thing spinning and vibrating at idle is the crankshaft, gear box , clutch and flywheel
if the power commander is electronic there may be a fault in it
best place for these faults is a dealer shop as they are aware of these sorts of problems

What would cause vibration on my Suzuki gsxr 1100 pre-slingshot. The bike has bad handle bar vibration. My hands go numb even on a short trip. You can also feel the vibration through the bike.

It sounds like out of balance in the front wheel somewhere. Possibly a bad front tyre, the tire is damaged, bulged or blistered, or wheel buckled or simply out of balance.

Cbr 125r 05 vibration

this new exhaust has thrown the engine way out of tune, and the carbs need to be re-set up as the bike is now running very week,,,,you will burn a hole in a piston very soon if you dont re-tune it,,,this could also be causing some if not all of the vibration your getting, but check the sprokets are running true life the rear of the bike clear of the ground and spin the rear wheel if you feel or here a grinding sound its the sprokets not meshing with the chain also did you have the new tyer balanced when it was fitted???
this also causes vibration

I have vibration in handlebar and pegs. My girlfriend complains specially about the vibrations in the passenger pegs. ¿How did this bike got the approval to go out in the market with this terrible...

for starters, make sure tires are properly balanced and inflated to proper tire pressure. as for the vibration i the pegs, that is normal. if it's excessive, make sure subframe boltsare tight. gixxers are know to lose one or two ( locktite on the bolts is very helpful). good bar ends are very helful in reducing the vibration in the handlebars.

I have a CRF100 and it has excessive vibration

Make sure all of the engine mounting bolts are tightened properly. One loose engine mount bolt can cause exactly what you are describing. While you're doing that, perform a visual inspection of the attachment points on the frame, making sure there are no visible cracks.
Aside from that, just stick a wrench on every bolt and nut on the bike that you can see - and make sure everything is tight.
The only other possible thing I can think of would be a loose flywheel on the crankshaft. Unlikely, but check just to be sure.

My 2009 Dyna Super Glide Custom motorcycle has had an unusual amount of vibration overall when under way while accelerating or deaccelerating through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. It seems to me to be either...

You can check for a loose or broken motor mount but you need to consider how the rubber mounts work. The mounts absorb high frequency vibrations. Low frequency vibrations will be felt throughout the machine.

On most Dyna's, the bike vibrates when idling. When accelerating though the gears (and decelerating back down) if the engine rpm's gets below about 2000 rpm's, you'll feel the vibration. Once above this level, the bike smooths out due to the change in frequency of the vibrations. I have owned a '94 FXDWG since new and this is my experience with the bike.

However, if the vibration is very bad, you may need to have it looked at by a technician. You'll have to determine that for yourself.

My '73 Norton 850 Commando handlebars vibrates at idle.

Hi pl427
I love these bikes. Vertical twins of this era vibrate, is just how it goes. Engine design was simple back then and no counter shafts are used, so there is a degree of vibration at low revs produced by 2 big bore pistons that will make the handle bars get a real bogey on at idle.  If the carbs are out of sync,or need a tune, then you may have a lazy clyinder at idle that is producing the vibration also. Not sure if your bike has them, but some have rubber bushes that mount the handlebars. These can get sloppy with age and may need to be replaced. Another trick if the vibration is anoying you is to mix some lead shot with silicon and fill the ends of the handle bars up to "weight" them and reduce the vibration.
click here to see one walking on its center stand. Notice the way everything is vibrating on this old girl.
regards robotek
