Hi Anonymous, could be your oil tank is overfull should have at least 1" breathing room and I am sorry you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Honda but despair not for a mere $11 you can download another one. I have a 1982 Honda CB900 c custom. When i get into higher RPMs i have oil blowing out of the right side oil breather tube. What would be causing that?

Just changed fuel pump and now ....fuel leaking from carbs? cant seem to see where its coming from and it started after bike sat a while....any ideas?


Had a similar problem with a CB900 I left for a while, turned out to be the float needles had gummed up and did not seal properly which allowed fuel to overflow.

1980 Honda CB900 Custom clutch slips


Hi, Rtbelless and the usual suspects are:
1. Clutch controls improperly adjusted.
2. Insufficient clutch spring tension.
3. Friction discs or steel discs are worn or warped past specs.
4. New wet clutch not pre-soaked for 24 hours.

1982 Honda CB900 hard to start


Hi, Sglenn256 and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or have an improper gap or are partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition.
3. Battery damaged or nearly discharged, should have 12.5 volts.
4. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Throttle controls not adjusted correctly.
6. Water or dirt in the fuel system.
7. Water or dirt in the carburetor.
8. Intake air leak.
9. Fuel tank vent hose and vapor valve plugged, or fuel line closed off, restricting fuel flow.
10. Choke valve inoperative.
11. Engine lubricant to heavy (winter operation).
12. Ignition is not functioning properly (possible sensor failure).
13. Faulty ignition coil.
14. Valves sticking.

FORK OIL AMOUNT ON A 1980 HONDA CB900 CUSTOM


According to Haynes, the Honda CB900C Fork capacity (filled with ATF) is 9.5 oz on the 1980 model and 9.8 oz on the 1981 model.

adjust the throttle cable and it will help a lot . ZX14 comes from the factoray with too much slck in the cables. Also adjust the idle after taht
