What is the DISTANCE BETWEEN FORK CENTERS on an 1999 Intruder 800? I want to be sure a fork-mounted windshield I buy accommodates this space.

On my 93 it's 8 3/4" measured at the bolts on top of the tree. Handlebar risers are 4".

My 1999 suzuki intruder 1400 is vibrating while ridding over 30 mph, once i put clutch on or take it to neutral it stop s the vibration . when I am parked i accelerate the engine and the vibration s


Hi Eric, and the usual suspects are:
1. Wheels and/or tires worn or damaged.
2. Engine/transmission/vehicle not aligned properly.
3. Primary chain badly worn or links too tight as a result of insufficient lubrication or misalignment.
4. Engine to transmission mounting bolts loose.
5. Upper engine mounting bracket loose.
6. Ignition timing incorrect/poorly tuned engine.
7. Internal engine problem/flywheels shift.
8. Broken frame.
9. Stabilizer links worn or loose.
10. Rubber mounts loose or worn.
11. Rear fork pivot shaft nuts loose.
12. Front engine mounting bolts loose.

Hi, all model VS 800 from1992-2000 take the same amount of oil in the front forks, using 10 weight fork oil measure into a clean measuring device or mark the side of the oil bottle 413 mls, pour this caerfully into 1 fork, and the same amount into the other fork, 413/413 cm (3)

The recommended weight is Suzuki SAE 10W fork oil. The amount for the forks is 386ml or 13.5 ounces per side.

Front wheel rubs


What is it rubbing? the fork? Is the wheel true? Are the forks equally extended. Pull the font wheel and have suzuki ck. If it is a spoke wheel then it just might need to be trued through adjustment of the spokes.
