Silencer vibrating problem

I have a similar silencer shaking problem. It vibrates while riding and makes an ugly noise when bike hits a pothole. Went to the ********* HMSI service center and they say that it is the heat guard which is vibrating. Replace it! But not sure if it would work or not.

Pick up the front end and drop it. listen for the sound and trace it. try to tighten if that dont work and replacing is not an option the start welding but do it in an inconsicuos spot.

What is wrong when vibration of chasis is noticed when driving at a low speed of 20-30miles per hour, whell balancing and allignment have been done

Please check if the engine mountings and the drvies are not wobbling at this speed. You must lift up each wheel and test for noise or wobbling of the bearings. Also assuming that your tyres are new , if not replace the tyres as there could be uneven wearing making this to react at slow speeds. You will need to check on the balance rods, the suspension springs / bushes and silencer mountings for any slackness. this might also produce the sympathetic vibration. Hope you get this right.Good day

Engine vibration at 1800-rpm and up 1340 evo 1994 dyna.

Hi .... This may sound daft but have you recently changed or had the exhaust off ? Have a look at the silencer/muffler rear mounts, difficult to explain but they should be in a 'neutral' position, not fully pushed in. Maybe the vibes are coming straight along the pipes from the engine and through the footpegs.
Let me know how you get on.

Shake of Silencer

Hi! it sounds like the baffles have detached themselves from the wall of the muffler/silencer. With the bike running try inserting a long slim screwdriver or similar into the exit of the exhaust bearing in mind it's HOT! try a little LIGHT pressure aganst the main baffle if it stops you may be able to drill and take a long bolt and nut to secure.(On the inside so as not seen) Failing that an after market system is the only route unless you have a large wallet for genuine.
Good luck!
