Intermittent fuel pump

I had a similar problem with a 1998, it can be the fuel pump as it was for mine. I wrestled with this intermittent problem for 4 months until it finally died on me, leaving me stranded. Check and replace a faulty fuel pump relay first and if that doesn't solve it, it's the fuel pump. The fuel pump ground connection can also be the cause of an intermittent fault.

i would have to say check fuel filter or it culd be a bad fuel pump.

Yes the pumps used in the car are famous for intermittent operation.

Yes it does it means its intermittent,by being intermittent it works then it doesnt work.also when you replace fuel pump or going to rplace the pump do a fuel filter

Possible loose connection to the fuel pump /fuel pump relay or a possible faulty fuel pump relay.
Since this is intermittent you will need to check all the wiring to the fuel lines starting from the fuse.

fuel pump maybe shorting out.. may have bad ground

it is not uncommon for a replacement pump to be bad. I repalced a pump in my daughter's car three times before getting one that worked properly. You may have a bad one and need to return it .

Check for clogged fuel filter or clogged fuel lines.

try tapping on it a bit or banging on it, but before you do, let me tell you that you need a new fuel pump or the hose could have something in it blocking flow or something.

The common cause of the problem that you related.
Is the FUEL PUMP RELAY " Called MAIN RELAY.
Is located : left side under the dash.
Is a BIG relay gray colour. with a connector of 7 or 8 wires.
I recomend replace the relay.
