Question about 2001 Victory V 92 C Deluxe

7 Answers

I have a 2001 Victory Deluxe cruiser 92cc with 29,000 miles. The bike started hesitating and cutting out at highway speeds. I took it to the dealer for a tune-up, rode it a few miles and it started doing it again. I have taken the bike back to the dealer for a total of 5 times for the same problem since Feb. of this year. They have replaced the stator, voltage regulator, plugs, ECU computer unit, at a total combined cost of 1847.00 and the bike is currently back at the dealership doing the same thing. The service tech is at a loss of what is wrong and how to fix it. I contacted polaris customer service for help but they only refered me back to the dealer. I am out over 1,847.00, the bike is still screwed up, I can't sell it, the dealer won't buy it, I can't ride it, they can't fix it, customer service is a joke. What can I do next? Each time they do something to it, it seems to work for a while. After about 60 or 70 miles, it starts doing the same thing. It is dangerous to ride it in traffic not knowing when it will shut off and become a hazzard or lock up. I heard of another rider online who had a similar problem and the factory bought his bike back at full price and gave him a discount on another one. His problem they said was a vapor lock. Could this be the same thing? I cannot get a cause and effect of when this problem occurs. It seems to happen at any time, mostly at highway speeds. What is my recourse? I am thinking of contacting the Highway Traffic Safety Administration to report this as a safety issue that as of yet the dealership can't fix. I am not getting any value for my money already spent on this. I have been laid off work and can't afford to spent any more money on this problem. What do you suggest?

Ok guys same prob on my 02 it is teh rubber caps that are missing from the test points on the fuel injector body.
This is underneath the tank just one on each side.
Either the caps are missing or have rotted off.
fixed mine immeadiately

V apor locking going down the road is very unlikely. This is unethical but, If a long piece of hose, 2-3', could be used between pump and injectors. If it did not lock again, vp could be problem. If it locked again, it is probably some fluke electical problem. sorry

To me it sounds like your dealer is barking up the wrong tree. The money tree!!! My 2000 v92c did the same thing. I didn't bother with a dealer as I'm a certified master engine builder. It was simply fine rust from the tank clogging the fuel screens inserted in the tank outlets where the fuel hoses connect.

I can't solve your problem, however my 01 has been doing it for years, since day 1 when i bought it new. The problem goes away when I throttle up and then comes back a little later. I agree that it is electronic and I wish it would break already so i could get it repaired. goos luck and if you ever find the problem... shoot me a line..

2001 Victory V92C Transmition skipping

Hi, Sounds the clutch assembly rather than the tranny, but it could be in the backlash gears. There have been several recalls on this bike and this was one of the issues. Make sure the recall issues have been addressed. I would take this bike to a dealer for a through inspection and have them give you in writing what is wrong with it. Good Luck!
