My 1982 honda CB750 wont run worth anything

I have a 1982 Honda CB750C that I bought a while ago. it was a mess, but have been rebuilding it. It's not my first rebuild, but I am having troubles getting it to run.
I seem to have a problem with the carbs I have taken them off and cleaned them all the jets and needle jets the works I also replaced the fuel lines between the carbs. After installing them on the bike I can't get it run right at all. It runs weird, backfiring sometimes and then not stating at all others. I can tell that sometimes I'm only running on three cylinders. I have tried adjusting the pilot screws to a neutral spec ( from manual) but that didn't seem to do anything.
I got nothing left and my car just died so I'd like another form of transport. any ideas what this may be?

I guess you will have to synchronize the carbs.
Check the float levels too in all the carbs.
Check the valve clearance.
Check the carburator intake mounting rubbers for leaks.
Hope this helps!

You MUST synchronize the carburetors.
It is a task that involves some special tools (carb synchronizer)
Take a look on this forums:

1982 Honda cb750c no spark on 3 & 4 cylinder

Hi, Richard and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

Sounds almost like a timing problem. Have you had the head off? Has someone else?
You should be able to check the timing from the maunal. Valve and ignition.
If it's a fuel problem and it's popping through the exhaust it's too lean. Be sure you have the proper fuel filter and it's clean.
