Question about 1997 Honda VT 1100 C2 Shadow Sabre
I have a 1997 Shadow Ace VT1100C2. It stops on me every so often and if I let it sit for a while (20 to 30 minutes) it will usually start right back up and run fine for several hundred miles. I think the problem may be electrical since I have run a wire from the plug to within 1/8" of cylinder and gotten a very weak spark when trying to crank after it stops. Thought it was blue/white wire connector going to ignition system since it was loose. Couldn't get apart so just pushed it back together. Seemed to run great, but stopped again after about 10 miles. May need to get connector apart and clean any corrosion. Cleaned kill switch contacts. It didn't look bad. Any ideas what to try next? Thanks! Dave.
Best way to get one of those apart is to cut the wires on each side and replace the plug.
Try replacing the fuel filter too.
Coils will do stuff like that too.
