Question about 1990 Honda CBR 600 F(1)L

1 Answer

I put a new fuel pump on my 90 cbr 600, when I start it up it flows fuel out of a hose on the far left carb, and all over the motor, is it supplying too much fuel?

Can I adjust the flow on the fuel pump?

Sounds like a stuck float on the left carb. Try tapping the carb bowl while the gas is running through. carbs probably need cleaning.

SOURCE: honda cbr 600 wont start

hi, each lead has the specific number on it. if you do this correctly then they genrally give you an idea to where the sit in the coils( the way they bend :-) ) also i believe the coils are better off been attached to the frame once you are sure leads are in corect order and possitioned correctly in the coils.i just presumed the coils neaded earthing. make sure battery is pleny charged as a bad battery can just hinder. it is also very easy to flood the bike so just check the plugs again. if they are unusually wet then dry them off and try again . otherwise maybe try cleaning all electics.

hope this somehow helped

My 89 cbr 600 won't start unless I poor fuel down the carbs then it will fire up have tried bypassing the fuel pump there is fuel in the float bowls but doesn't seem to be getting to the cyl have pulled...

The carbs are plugged and need to be completely disassembled and cleaned out along with the tank and petcock. If the tank has any rust it remove the tank and put a tank liner kit in it. Most cycle shops and online stores will/may have the liner kit. The carbs will easily plug up with the new formulated gas even sometimes in less than a years time. If you are not familiar with the cleaning process, it is best to take it to a dealer ship or mechanic. Some carbs have jets inside that will have orifice as small as .010 inch. Most home mechanics or "do it your selfers" will not have tool that can clean those size jets.

Cbr 600 shut off while driving

Has the bike been sitting up for any length of time? Sounds like the needle/seats are sticking (they regulate the flow of gas into the float bowls of the carbs).. a full float bowl will last about a mile or two..then you run out of gas.. then. if you let it sit.. they slowly refill.. (add choke).. and it will restart and repeat this over and over..if this sounds right... have the carbs professionally cleaned/checked and calibrated!!
Have you checked the petcock to make sure its flowing gas freely to the carbs?

sounds like a fuel restriction or flooding.. check the fuel filter or kinked fuel line.clogged could have not put he jets in right and your flooding out the motor..check throttle return spring.. set the floats correctly? must use the measuring gauge in the carb rebuild kit to measure the correct float hight after rebulding the carb and replacing the floats...

My cbr 600 f2 has gas in oil why and what would cause this

This could be caused by worn needles, gummy gas, or sunk floats. But it can also happen to a brand new motorcycle. If one needle sticks, it can fill a cylinder with gas , that then flows past the rings into the oil. Try using some fuel system cleaner in your tank (Chevron Techron will clean the carbs and the motor). But most of all ,when not riding, ALWAYS TURN OFF YOUR FUEL PETCOCK.

Fuel leaking into crankcase on 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i, Bike sat for 3 years tank had rusted religned inside of tank and changed fuel pump however when religning tank i filled vent tube so the tank didn't...

it's probably leaking from the carb and down the cylinder into the crankcase.
it is probably due to a stuck float in the carb. take the float bowl off and make sure it is clean. the float can also be full of gas not letting it float up and stop the gas flow. the carb will fill up and leak wherever it can which is likely the case

Fuel petcock

The petcock is what the fuel flows through when it comes out of the gas tank. It probably includes: * A switch with positions for On, Off and Reserve. * A fuel line going to the carburetors. * A vacuum hose attachment which attaches to a carburetor which tugs on a rubber diaphram to let gas flow through. * An overflow/drip valve from the vacuum area. It's located right under the tank on the rear/left side.
