59 plate mazda 2 powertrain warning light came today, but after pulling over, turning off engine to find what light meant, car restarted fine and no light?

Have the engine computer scanned for trouble codes. Having been on, it should have set a trouble code, which might point you towards solving the misfire problem.

How do I get check engine light removed from 2001 Buick Century

you scan the computer and see what codes are stored you can use one of the code scanners at the parts stores the cheap 49-59 dollar testers work and fix what is wrong most likely codes are for the oxygen sensor . as far as the light you cant remove the light or bulb and go for an inspection ( i think this what you wanted to ask ) because when the plug the inspection machine into your car it shows on the display that the mil light is on or off so if it shows light is on you failed and if you need an oxygen sensor the engine will run rich or lean which will fail either way . hope this helps
