Question about Headwinds 5-3/4" Standard Bullet Headlight, High-gloss Blac-Motorcycle
Loosen the retaining ring ??
Yes, loosen the retaining ring and remove the ring. The headlight is the whole bulb. Once you have the ring off, you can remove the headlight; pull it out far enough so you can get to the plug on the back of it. Disconnect the plug (just pull it straight back by the plug, not the wires). Take the bulb down you your local auto parts store and have them match up a new replacement. Install is just the reverse; connect the plug (you can test it now by turning on your lights) put the bulb back in (they do have a top and bottom, make sure to put it in with the TOP on top) put the ring around it (clamp on the bottom) and tighten the ring. Done.

Do not ever touch the quartz bulb with your fingers as fingerprints will etch the glass and cause the bulb to fail prematurely.
