SOURCE: 650 v star will not crank and no power to instrument panel

You may have blown a fuse or relay. The relays are the big ones, try switching them with each other an check for dash lights when u turn on the ignition.

SOURCE: I have 2003 v-star classic with the silverado

Have had the same problem, same bike. Dealer installed the additional running lights so they come on with the low beam headlight. Go off when the high beam is turned on. Mandatory for my state inspection procedure.
Possible solution to problem: open the headlight housing, should be a solid green wire going to the headlight bulb. Dealer spliced wire for running lights into this green wire.
Splice was just a crimp on splice. Vibration on a bike wipes out this type of splice quickly.
Got rid of the crimp on connector and did things the old fashioned way, used solder for the connection. Vibration does not bother the soldered connection.
Took care of the problem

SOURCE: Yamaha 650 v star turn signals no headlight no running lights

Sounds like something you did on installing light bar. Does the light bar work? Have you checked the fuses? If you answer yes and yes, disconnect light bar and see what happens. You may be drawing too much current with addition of light bar.

Hi, Jodi and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

My 2003 yukon died but was low on fuel

If the engine does not crank, I doubt it has anything to do with the fuel system. You would need to find out if you have power at the starter posts when the key is in start position. Will it crank in neutral, and is the security light flashing ?
