Question about Yamaha YZF-R1 Motorcycles

1 Answer

Gear problems I have problems going up into third, fourth and fifth gear. Sometimes I have to force the lever with my foot and other solutions are to release and re-engage the clutch or give it more revs on the change. My most frequent problem is getting it back down from second to first and I often end up having to pull off in second.

Are you using a motorcycle oil with friction modifiers? It would say "energy conserving" on the round oil label.

SOURCE: kawasaki en 500 c1Im having problems changing up and down gears

The bike has some bent shift forks. Bent shift forks do not move the slider gears properly when changing gears. Expensive to fix.

SOURCE: when im riding and i shift into second and get it

Check that there is some free play in the throttle. When you twist the grip the first bit of movement should only be taking the slack out of the cable, in other words, you need about 1/16th of a turn of the grip before the throttle is actuated.
Also make sure the cable is routed properly - and check for any air leakage between the carburetor and the engine. With the engine running, if you spray WD-40 around the inlet manifold and it causes the idle speed to change, then there's an air leak.

Transmission not going into gear

Hi Anonymous, yes there is a bushing and seal there, but more than likely your shift lever is loose on the shaft. It takes a 3/16" allen try tightening it up. Good luck

2008 HONDA cbr 125 Popping out of 5th Gear

Only three things would cause the problem. 1) a slightly beny shift fork, 2) a shift index wheel loose, 3) the foot shift lever needs to be adjusted.

The most likely source is the shift lever needing to be lower. Once you are in 5th gear you move your foot to the top iof the pedal in preparation for a downshift. At high speed your entire body is leaning forward FOOT INCLUDED. Chances are that enough pressure is on the pedal to move the slider gear out of position and thus out of 5th gear.

I hope I am right in the solution. Best wishes.

Solution #6: I think you need a break from the game. Just close the DS and take a walk for a bit. When you come back you will find the solution.

All people who cannot get into the cave: You need to get lost in the fog, keep going north following the ghost ship (if you get attacked use the skull icons on the map to defend yourself), and you will eventually be completely shrouded in fog and be "teleported" back a bit. THEN head back to Molida and talk to Romanov, he will tell you to go away, but will call you back as you walk away. If you talk to him again, he will let you into the cave and the woman outside will let you go through.
