Question about Triumph Motor Motorcycles

1 Answer

Motorcycle ignition I want to buy a repairable writeoff 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 but it has had the main ignition ripped out and no key. Is this going to be an easy fix by replacing ignition or a major due to ECU etc. Thanks Tony

Not if you get the right replacement ignition and get the wires back where they belong should not affect the ecu at all if you get the wires back together right get the schemitic to make sure you get the wires back where they belong ,

SOURCE: My 2009 triumph daytona 675 had some melting from

Hi,
Its possible the ignition module has failed caused from the over voltage supply when the voltage regulator overheated.
Have the ignition checked for spark, if this is ok then it has to be a fuel delivery problem which unfortunately could be the ECU.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Jason

My triumph Daytona does not give spark at the plugs

Hi, Pierre and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting, leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

Triumph Daytona 675 unrestricted now sputtering

Hi, Anonymous what you have done is upset the delicate parameters that have been programmed into the ECM you have 3 options:
1. Put back the restrictor.
2. Have the dealer download a compatible program.
3. Purchase a Fuel Tuner.

Instrument lost all functions exept speedometer and tacho

Hi, Danne_strobe for this situation I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. I would gamble a $100 diagnostic test first.

07 675 just had voltage regulator replaced and I rode it twice. Now it just clicks and will not start

What about the rectifier? Did you haved it checked? Was your bttery fully charged when you started the first of the two rides?

If this were my Daytona, I think I'd be talking to the mechanic again.

Daytona 675 won't start

Hi,

Two possibilities:
  • starting relay. This could actually be bypassed/jumped to determine if the starter motor will turn:
  • starter motor. most likely carbon brush.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
