SOURCE: crf 250 r dropped oil while riding

Lots of things can go wrong with a bike. Some are minor, some are major. Your problem is on the very major side. Guessing what happened is useless in this case. The engine will need to be torn down and inspected. The cam chain may have broken and wrapped up on the crank, busting the center case in the process. A gear may have broken apart. You may wind up needing a new engine. The good part is that you will have a lot of spare parts left over.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

2004 Honda CRF 450 R won't run with the choke off

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Vacuum line from the petcock to intake manifold cracked.
5. Float needle and seat sticking.
6. Float level too low.
7. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
8. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.

My 05 crf 450r will not idle when I turn off the choke it also is backfiring and poping when I give it gas . Could it have something to do with the hot start cable ?

Check your pilot jet is not blocked or try adjusting your idle screw for the idle issue and it sounds like its runing lean which can also make it idle low and rough and will cause it to pop and backfire. Dont think it has anything to do with your hot start cable that will make it run it run better if its running rich but your is doing the opposite

Are the frames the same? 05 crf 250r and a 07 crf

No. Honda has a very crafty way of making two different models look like they have parts that will interchange, when - in reality - they are totally different. That goes for not only the major components like frames, but for nearly every part, on nearly every model. Very little in the way of parts interchangeability.
