With an "EZ-Out":

Drill a hole in the center (the drill size will be etched on the EZ-Out), insert EZ-Out, turning counterclockwise until it gets a bite, then wrench it out.

What kind of Allen wrench do you use to take off the bottom bolt holding the alternator on a Suzuki L7?

Should be a T50 torx head on the lower bolt. If you get it out, consider swapping it with a hex head as history has proven that particular bolt to strip out when trying to remove it.

How do i replace windshield 2010 harley limited

You will need to remove remove the 2 Torx Bolts below the handle bars on the fairing. Remove each Torx Bolt on the upper part of the fairing. They are located at the bottom outside corner of each speaker. Then remove both wind deflectors if so equipped. Last are the 3 Torx bolts just under the front of the windshield. Now you can remove the windshield. If you pulled out the headlight you would be able to remove the whole fairing cover. Its all pretty easy.

When changing out brake pads on my 99* silverado 1500 two wheel, Do i need to renove both the torx bolts and or the regular head shaped bolts to remove the old pads? I have not had sucess loosening the...

Normally it is just the Torx head bolts that need to be removed in order to replace the pads, but I have seen them so badly rusted that I have had to torch them out, and replace with new Torx slider pins and caliper bushings. The cause is lack of service. Those pins need to be removed periodically to be cleaned, re-lubricated, and re-installed to prevent seizing.

99 silveradofrontcaliper removaltorx head style bolt heads stripedcant grab with torx wrench also tried with heat but no go

You could chisel the head off and use a Broken Screw or Bolt Extractor to remove the rest of the bolt. I don't know why GM continues to use Torx Head Bolts on those type of applications, the bolt heads always get stripped out.

How do you get to the spark plugs?

Remove coil pack (1 per side) and marked cyl 135 on one head and 246 on the other, long strip about 2 inches wide and 10 inches long all cast epoxy. At the very back there is a connector plugged into each. This is only on 00 and 01 Cats.

It's in between the valve covers. On the passenger side, you will see it right below the fuel lines where they connect to the engine bracket. On the drivers side, you need to remove the flat strip that carries the wiring to the engine computer. There are 3 vacuum lines clipped to the strip. Take that off and you will see the 135 coil pack. 2 torx bolts hold each one.

Removing calipers from a 1997 T-Bird..

Those bolts should be allen head bolts and NOT torx (star shaped). With a torx bit in that hole all u will do is mess up a torx bit and the flats for the allen wrenches to grab onto. Try using a 10 or 12 mm( cant remeber which it is) allen head wrench.

Cant get head off 86 mr2.

Head jobs take time, patience, and most importantly a book. As far as the bolts, take the allen head into the parts store and find a Torx bit that is slightly bigger and beat it into the stripped bolt head, loosen and replace the bolts with new ones. Good luck.

Vw polo driveshaft torx splines problems

Hi Ammar

If your torx bolt splines are shot.

Hammer on the surface face, with a long round drift to loosen the bolt threads slightly, and close up the torx hole, and try the torx splined socket again.

If no good try mole grips on the head of the bolt to loosen it.

If not enough room for them, try a chisel on the outer edge of the bolt, this normally does it.

Failing this try hammering on a slightly smaller external socket, than the head of the bolt, then try removing.

Good Luck !

Let me know how you get on.

A FixYa rating would be nice !

Removing tail light

Drop the tailgate - there are two torx style bolts holding the lens assembly in place. Remove both, then with some gentle force, pull the lens assembly straight back(there are two self seating plastic bolts that hold the assembly into the truck frame, towards the cab).

Once undone, there is a strip of three bulbs on one wired base, and that base is screwed to the lens assembly (4 phillips screws). Unscrew those, and the lens assembly is free from the base. You can then remove the bulbs, insert new ones, and reverse the process. Good luck.
