It may be.
Be sure the oil supply is not empty (if it is a 2 stroke)

'99 Fatboy. What is causing it to squeak?

Hi Todd, if the engine is running chirping or squeaking noise is usually caused by a bearing going south, noises from the center of the bike would suggest an inner primary bearing or clutch hub bearing. If you are just sitting on the bike with the engine off and you hear squeaking, it is probably the rear shock springs rubbing on the hydraulic unit. For more information on your issue, you can reach me at xlch@mail.com. Good luck and have nice day.

Pulsar 135 crankshaft problem

Replacing one journal or rod cap is not an unusual thing. The motor could be in perfect shape and one piston spin a bearing. It will have to be torn down and have the crankshaft ground and an undersized bearing put in it. It should run on for years after that. I would try to find a bike shop that is independently owned because as you said the dealer is going to want to rebuild the entire engine and you don't need it rebuilt. It will cost enough with just the one Rod Bearing. I would not run it to much until I had it fixed. If it breaks and comes through the engine housing then you do have problems. Again I would shop around the small independent bike shops and see which is cheapest, then see what kind of a reputation they have. As for how much it will cost I have no idea. It depends on where you live and how many shops are around and what the exact problems is. Like I said just shop around.

2000 grand cheroke 4.0 knocks loud at idle

You need a trained technician to listen to this, but it sounds like a connecting rod and or a crankshaft main bearing noise. I lean more towards the rod knock form a worn out bearing.

Hi, Dunn_kerry I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. 2008 Chevy Silverado 4x4 5.3 Ran it too long without oil change, now it has a rattling sound that gets louder as you give it gas.

Hi,
your description is a bit generic. No mention of mileage covered and no mention of miles covered between the prior and the "late' oil change. However, based on your statement, I would venture to say that your engine and rod bearings are now a problem. Should I be correct, further operation of the vehicle will result in crankshaft damage,, and possible engine siezure.

If the rattle you describe is "light' but becomes "heavy" as you give it gas, then it's the mains that have gone. If it's light, and just rattles with more intensity when you give it gas, then it's the rod bearings that have gone.

I would love to be proven wrong::))

So my 2001 chevrolet prizm quit running, it made a horrible knocking sound. So my dad replaced the connector rod and bearings, and the sound was pretty much completely gone. Today(2 days later) the...

It sounds like the crankshaft was damaged and is wearing out the new bearings he put in. There is a little play in the bearing were it meets the crankshaft and the is the knock your hearing. I might only make the sound at a specific RPM. Check also the oil screen is not cloged up and starving the engine of vital lubrication. You can purchase a Crank kit from any local auto store that will contain a remachined crank shaft and all the bearings needed to rebuild the bottom end of the motor. You will have to pull the motor to peform this action.

Increase the eidle speed then trade it in on a newer bike. It sounds like a rod bearing is going bad. Or you can keep it and pay the $1500 needed for the repair work.

I have a 4.6 liter 3v mustang gt and it is making a knockin sound in the engine what would it be..

Could be one of thousands of parts, but if it is a loud knocking and get louder when you give it gas,it would more than likely be a rod or rod bearing.

Popping sound when I give it gas

Change plug wires. If you want to check first, drive it into a garage, or wait til dark, and have somebody brake torque it while you watch under the hood for spark jumping.
