Probably air filter getting wet which restricts the airflow. Make sure you have a new air filter thats not already clogged. Add the rain to a bad filter and it will starve it for air. If not that, check all hot wires for cracks in the insulation which could get wet and short the bike out while youre riding.

SOURCE: tzr 125 1989/clutch ok.but when you start the bike

most bikes have a neutral switch, which lights up neutral light on dash, or even to allow bike to turn over starter.you need to find it on the bike and check it, it may be shorting, or loose.

Dirty contacts in the ignition switch contact base. You may not be able to disassemble and clean your switch but you can check the wires for continuity. Your handle bar kill switch can also be be a source of intermittent spark.

Honda sabre

I have an 04 Honda Sabre 1100 that does the same thing. If the rain is steady, it will actually die. After you come to a stop, it will start right away and run ok for a little while until you get up to speed in the rain and will die again. Very frustrating. Can't see any shorting when viewing in dark conditions. Bike shop also couldn't figure anything out. Any ideas?
If I figure anything out, I'll repost what worked for me.

yeah had the same once on a tzr 125 4dl would ride for a short time fine then splutter and die after a couple of mins would start fine and do the same again .. it was the breather on the fuel cap . if blocked causes a vacume stopping fuel from flowing . once cleaned was all fine

Iv just bought a tzr 125 belgarda its smokes like hell and will not rev up.. someone said it may be leaking gearbox oil into the piston some how?? i changed the plug.. and turned the power valve to open...

There are two places where gearbox oil can leak into the combustion process: from the gasket between the two engine case halves, or from the crank seal on the right hand end of the crankshaft. The most likely culprit is the crankshaft seal.

Bike wont run for more than 5 secs and thats when it does start

Not sure but it sounds like it's running too rich a mixture and/or your float levels are not adjusted properly. When you stopped the excess fuel has gone into the bore not burned which will wet your spark plug making it very difficult to start. Depending on the colour of the smoke it could also indicate that your mixture is too rich. For extra power you need more air not necessarily more fuel. I hope that helps you. Again not sure but sounds like that is your problem. :)
