Bike has sat for 15 yrs. Throttle is stuck, yet cable moves freely.

Hi Wade:
15 years! WOW
You've scored a treasure!
There are 3 places to consider for your problem:
1: The twist grip mechanism. If the cable is disconnected, it should rotate easily.
2) The cable. You've already got this covered
3) The carb. I'd be betting that there is corrosion that is stopping the slide or butterfly valve from moving. Solution??????
Try soaking it with carb medic or penetrating fluid, WD-40....
If you're lucky it will free up
I would recommend removing the carb and soak it in solvent, then carefully dis-assemble, clean, and re-assemble.
Best of luck.
What make and model, Just for our info?

Throttle body float stuck

They are pulling your leg

Only Carburators have Floats

A Throttle Body has Injectors

Could be an issue with the Mass Air Flow Sensor

Wrong reading on air flow you add too much fuel

Throttle cable very little movement in hand grip but isn't bindin

you need to remove the carbs and they need to be cleaned, what has happened is the gas went bad and it has gummed up the throttle shaft and most likely lots of other parts in the carburators, these sound pretty bad, what needs to be done is they need to be completely disassembled and soaked in a strong solution to free and clean everything up, you are looking at about a $300-400 bill at a shop.

2002 suzuki sat up for two years can't get it to start

Ok then if it's a carburated engine you'll need to open the fuel filter and carburator itself and clean them up, as you know fuel evaporates by passage of time and they leave little hard particles that can clog fuel filer and/or carburator, you can open and wash them with gasoline, at the mean time it's a good idea to change spark plugs first hand, it might solve the problem. Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer it helps me, thanks!
