Test the sensor. It's in the radiator, probably at the bottom.

SOURCE: The fuel gauge on my 2007 Honda CBR 125 R is stuck

Fill it up with a little different density fuel, like E85, run normally for the sensor unlock. If it doesn't work, you have to take it out and inspect for blockages, gum or replace.

Hi, Gary the answer to this question is way above my pay grade for this situation, I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.

Honda Cbr motorcycle stalls when between 75% to 90% on temp gauge

I don't know if the actual temperature gauge has anything to do with it. I would suggest checking the positive cable or ground cable going to the starter. If there is a small break in the cable it is possible to separate when it gets hot. I don't believe there is a cut out switch for the temperature gauge. I would start checking the power wires anyway. That's where I would look first.

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects, are:
1. Blown instrument fuse.
2. A bad ground in the gauge circuit.
3. Faulty wiring before or after the fuse.
4. Faulty dash wiring harness connector.
4. Faulty wiring or connector between the fuse and sensor.
5. Faulty wiring or connector between the sensor and gauge.
6. Gauge sensor has failed.
7. The gauge has failed.

Sounds like you have a ground fault. I once had a car with a faulty ground wire on the headlight, when I put high beam on the speedo would jump to 170km/h and the indicators would glow dimly. Sure sounds like a similar ground fault to me, check all the ground straps, from the headlight or anywhere else you can think of.

Coolant system problem

on my cbr i had a problem w/ the cooling fan. so check to make sure it works. then your going to need to see if the radiator hoses are both warm, if not it needs a thermostat. the water pump is expensive and not likely to break. but, it is possible. my bike needed a thermoswitch, which turns the rad. fan on and off.
