Oil light flickers at idle

Could be the idle is too slow.
Most guys like that "Potato" sound at a slow idle. However, to get that sound the idle is lower than factory recommendation. This actually causes the oil pump to not produce enough oil pressure (oil light, anyone?).
Try speeding up idle to around 1,000 RPMs.
The recommendation on my S&S motor is 950-1050 RPMs, just for example.

2007 Toyota Matrix no longer accelerates. When I push the gas pedal it moves slightly faster than idle, RPMs don't go up either. Any ideas?

This could be any number of things. The key is they check engine light being on. Scan the computer for trouble codes. This will make the problem a lot clearer once you know what codes are present.

It could be anything from a pedal position sensor to a throttle body. both of which are fairly expensive. It could also be as simple as a blown fuse (which could be to be a more difficult problem if it continues to blow).

You have three options for getting the code(s)
1. Buy a code reader for about $50 and pull them yourself.
2. call your local parts store to see if they provide this service.
3. Have a check engine light diagnosis performed at your local garage or dealer (there is usually a fee for this).

Once you know the code(s) post them here and I'll be happy to help you further.

I recently changed the sparks plugs on my 2007 Nissan Versa and now I am getting random idle problems while my car is in park. The car will idle from 1400 rpms them all of a sudden jump up to 2100 rpms and...

If your check engine light is on have it scanned for fault codes. Also check to make sure you don't have a vacuum leak, you could of pulled a hose loose accidently when you changed your plugs.
Signals from the oxygen sensor, and/or a bad throttle position will also cause engine surge.
Good luck, i hope this helps.

How can i adjust the rpms so it can idle higher because its too low?

If it's idling below 800 RPM, I'd worry. Otherwise, it's OK between 1200 and 800rpms. This could be any number of problems. But if you really want to increase the RPM idle, you can adjust the Throtle cable. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Idle rpm too low

are you reading your rpms right....5-6000 rpms should equal 70- 85 mph....that is certainly not idle speed....invest 20bucks in a Haynes manual----it is good reading

Possibly sounds like too low of RPMs, believe there is a sensor on that.

What is idle RPMs?

2007, should still be under warranty, let dealer look at it. (I know that AC warranty used to be strictly by months, not mileage, not sure if that changed.)

Idle control

tps (throttle position sensor) controls the idle and the ideal idle is around 700-850
