My 1989 Oldsmobile 98 won't start when its cold outside.

Check fuel pump pressure and the fuel pump relay . On your vehicle the oil pressure switch will allow the vehicle to start if fuel pump relay fails . The problem with this is oil when cold doesn't flow very well and could take sometime to reach 4-6 PSI to close contacts inside . Watch this video on Fuel Pump Electrical Circuits Description and Operation ! When it get's to GM vehicles . Your OLDS is a GM vehicle , if you are not aware of it . System won't start when it's cold. Runs Great when it's warm. Changed fuel relays, fuel pump, almost all sensors

There is a temperature controlled fuel injector in the intake manifold that acts like a choke did on older trucks. It probably isn't working.

check fuel pressure make sure they are within specs. then if it is , very possible that you a problem with ignition module. this module is known to fail, and my experience using rebuilt is not good it took 6 unit before we got a good one. good luck

My 2002 ford explorer wont start in morning or when its cold but when warm it runs and starts fine fuel pressure valve only trickeling gas

The weather or outside temp are not the issue at all

The truck either works correctly or it doesn't

The valve on the engine is called a Schrader Valve
It is only to hook up a fuel pressure gauge

That is what you do next

It would seem from your description, that a check valve
in the fuel pump assy, inside the fuel tank is leaking.

It will start but takes time to build up pressure & then
drains back when the ignition & thus fuel pump are off

The fuel rail, the silver tubing that has you valve ,is not
staying pressurized.

Unfortunately you may have to drop the fuel tank to
remove the pump & replace a good pump just to get
the check valve that may have failed

So you want to watch the fuel pressure with a guage
or scan tool data if that is listed for your truck

If it won't hold or your not getting the better part of a
20 onces soda bottle full of fuel in 15 to 20 seconds,
then the volume is low also.

I will guess at the pressure you should see & say 38 to
42 lbs.

Does a1987 Dodge 150 pickup truck 4x4 have a fuel regulator? If so where is it located?

if it starts OK when warm , but not when cold , I would say it is the temperature sensor, sometimes on the intake manifold, engine block, or even the radiator, but don't confuse it with the fan sensor on the rad.

Hyundai Accent intermittent jerking

Revs.
As for the issue of the idle revs, that's perfectly normal. When it's cold outside, every car is supposed to have a higher rev in order to warm up the engine quickly. In more advanced cars, the computer wont even allow the engine to shift into overdrive when it's cold outside in order to avoid extreme engine stress and damage. When it's warm outside, the engine doesn't need to idle high because the engine is already at a good operating temperature. Not much will be needed to get it to the right temperature.
Intermittent Jerking

There is a long list of things that could cause intermittent jerking. I'm going to name all of them for you, but your best best would be to go to a mechanic and have them do an inspection.
Clogged PCV Valve (Possibly if you don't get your oil changes on time, sign of a tune up)
Bad DIstributor Cap (not likely at 140,000 miles)
Clogged fuel filter (Very likely, usually done with tune up)
Bad Fuel Pump (Not so likely)
Defective ECM (also not likely)
Vacuum hoses/leak (not likely but possible)
MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor--not likely but possible)
Fuel INjectors (if so, sign of a needed tune up)
Faulty Spark Plug Wires (not likely if tune up is recent)
Faulty O2 Sensors (possibly)

Clogged Catalytic Converter (Possible)
~Hope this helps

My 99 suburban wont start without starting fluid

I had same problem. Engine will start if you crank it for awhile. This is because the fuel pump has a . check valve that is supposed to keep fuel from running back into tank and hold fuel at pressure so it will start immediately. If valve leaks it takes awhile for fuel to be pumped back up to injectors. Replacing fuel pump fixed my problem.

Will not start when 35 degrees or below

Your fuel pump even though it's working now, is going bad. Replace the fuel pump.
