Question about 2007 Yamaha Vino Classic

1 Answer

The bike will not shift ever since I bump started the bike becasue of a dead battery. What could be the problem?

I had to bump start the bike because of a dead battery. Ever since I am not able to shift the bike into any gear. Could the shifting fork be jammed or bent or is it something more serious? The bike does start and run just fine, but can't get it into a gear.

SOURCE: Bent Shifting fork?

dear swedishpytho the bic engine will have to be removed and split to expose the trany. you can likely do this job yourself but is is a big job reguiring shiming the shift forks and gears .the problem is likely a worn shift fork. a repair manual is a must for this job. the cost of parts i am not sure but beside the shift fork a complete gasket set will be reguired, and since the engine will be striped down you might as well rering the engine hope this helps jim

SOURCE: yz 250 2008 possible 5th gear stripped, or shifting fork bent?

Do an oil change. If the gear were stripped there will be lots of metal particles in the oil. More than likely the fork is slightly bent such that the slider for fifth gear is just barely engaging. Put pressure on it by increased throttle and it pops out.

Bike have spark and feul all fuse are fine dut dont want to start behing standing for 5months now help me to start it want ride it please

This bike has fuel injection and will not start if the battery is flat or has a low charge bumping it will not work
if you have had cold weather over the last five months I would expect that the battery is dead and will need replacing
when you have replaced the battery it should be fine

Electric start doesnt seem to be working

If there's no noise at all your battery is either dead (jump start or new battery). If it clicks then there isn't enough charge in your battery to start the bike (charge battery or bump start)

More likely to be your ignition coils. They heat up and expand this can cause an open circuit which will close up again when it has cooled down. Although, a bad charging system may cause this problem. Check the battery voltage with engine switched off ( approx 12 volts) and with the engine running (approx 14 volts) If you are getting 14 volts then your battery is dead, if you aren't, then your charging system has a fault.

I have a 883 harley davidson sporster, was riding the bike and road over a bump and bike shut down and won't start

I'd check the battery first. I've seen the post break loose from the batteries in many Sportsters and leave them dead on the road. I've only seen this happen once on a Big Twin. Why? I have no idea. If nothing on the bike works, this may be the problem. If everything else works but it just won't start, I need more information. Does the starter engage and the engine turn over?

Bike was running fine all week went to put bike in the garage the bike head lite would not come on and the bike would not start

your battery is dead you can recharge it with a 12 volt battery charger. you could also jump the bike with another bike or a car. if these two solutions aren't possible because you don't have the necessary equipment or whatever you can bump start the bike by pushing it (works best down hill and/or with buddy's help) hoping on with the key in the on position and shifting into 2nd gear and dropping the clutch. be careful and goodluck

I left the key on for about20 minutes and the battery went dead bump started the bike and did about 20 minutes of freeway driving battery did not charge. I brought the bike home and hooked a charger to it...

You can damage electrical components if you do not run the correct voltage battery. If your battery is below 12 volts replace it. If you take off the seat you can easily test the stator with a volt meter. Find the stator plug with three yellow wires. You should have continuity between any combination of the yellow wires. You should have no continuity between any of the yellow wires and ground. That is the test of a good stator. If your bike is still losing charge after those checks , you are probably looking at a new regulator/rectifier.

New stator cover bike wont start

useing a multimeter set to d.c check your charge at the battery whith out the motor running it should read above 12 volts determine the voltage stored in the battery with the meter stil conected hit the start button if the meter shows a dramatic drop in voltage its almost certain that the battery is shot howevwer if the voltage does not drop & it wont start bump start it conect the meter still set on dc increase the revs asyou do this the voltage should climb to 13.50 if it does & maintains 13.50 to 13.65 the chargeing system can be declared ok & you only need replace the battery however if it goes above 14 volts the voltage regulator is faulty & cooking the battery so you will need to replace both

Motorcycle wont start

If cranking is slow it could be a sign of a 'near to dead' battery.
When cranking on its battery there is a too low voltage and weak or no sparking.
When jump starting or pushing the bike, there is a good spark and the engines fires up.

Check also the spark plugs! And carburettors cleaniness

I think the battery needs changed, the bikes trying to satart the its seams the batters dead but the lights stay on

if the lights on the dash dont go dim whe trying to start then the battery is fine, it will be a problem with the starter motor. try and bump start the bike in second gear and it will charge the battery up if the voltage is low.
