84 bronco 2 getting fuel in oil. Mech says needs new carb I find that not right.

It could be your mechanical fuel pump on the side of the engine. Sometimes the diaphragm ruptures, and gas goes into the engine and into the crankcase that way.
If gas is going through the carb and into the oil, that would have to be way too much gas going through the carb and into the cylinders and then washing down into the crankcase. It is possible, but engine would run rough from having too much gas going through, and not being burnt, but washing down the cylinder walls.

I have a Thane Q BBQ Grill and don't have a manuel and all the posts say to go to a web site but still not able to get a manuel. It has tank of gas The striker strikes but will not light. Any solution....

This is a solution to the same problem for full size LP gas grills, but it will work for your grill, too. Assuming there is gas in the cylinder (?).

Turn the gas valve OFF and remove the cylinder. Wait 10 minutes and reinstall the gas cylinder.
Ope the gas valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once te vales is fully open turn the valve back 1/4 turn. Now, light the burner and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so, you solve the problem.

If the above didn't work, either the cylinder of gas is empty or the regulator on the grill is locked up permanently and will need to be replaced.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

There is not enough butane flow to light the soldering tip.

Hello!. W/D here.

Couple of things will get you going....forgive my being basic with my answers, I don't know how much you know.....

1. Too much gas: If you have plenty of gas in the cylinder, turn the valve down low to light the tip. Too high a gas flow will keep it from lighting.
2. Too little gas: The orifice may be partially plugged. You can purchase a tip cleaning kit at a welding supply house. Cheap. Sometimes they don't even charge for them. Use the tip cleaners to clean out the tip.
3. Bad cylinder: Sometimes, grit can get down into the cylinder screw-on fitting, and it just won't dispense gas worth a flip. I only include this item here as it will baffle the fool out of you when this is the case. But it's rare. Try a different cylinder if you suspect this.....
Best regards, --W/D--

I have a gas range #31001saa and we replaced the oven igniter, but there is no gas going to oven. What do i do?

First you need to check if there is gas left in the cylinder, then once tat is confirmed be sure that the gas pressure is opened so it can connect the gas to the oven burners, if that does not seem to be the problem then it means there is either a blockage or the pressure is not enough to get the gas to the oven burners.
If there is gas in the cylinder and the switch is turned on, then you need to change the hose that links the gas to the oven burners. To replace it is quite simple. Turn off the pressure switch, then You take off the hose, fix in a new one, and turn on the pressure switch, but if the gas is empty ll you have to do is to refill the cylinder with gas.
Hope this was helpful. Thanks for using fixya.

My Trailblazer started idling and running rough intermittently. We thought bad gas. We were on a trip and used a gas teatment to get rid of water. Did not help. Delaer thought the same but now says...

I'm guessing you have the 6 cylinder engine and not the 8? I don't buy what the dealer told you. If you're really worried about a little water in the fuel system, run a bottle of Seafoam through the brake booster/ gas tank, that will solve any water in the system. Change your fuel filter after you do this, it will be dirty now, due to the Seafoam cleaning your gas tank. Wondering what would need to be "sealed" if there were a little water in a cylinder due to bad gas??? There are 6 coils on this engine, one per cylinder. If the coil goes bad, you would get a check engine light for a cylinder misfire and it would be consistantly running rough. Since it your problem happens intermittently, I'd check the wires going to the coil for any faults. I'd also check for a possible 02 sensor starting to go bad.

1 thought, does this only happen when ever you happen to have the defroster on, or the A/C? If so, I can help you solve your problem easily.

Homelite 240 chainsaw spiting gas?

Spitting gas is not good. It's probably leaking there instead of going into the carburetor where it can fire the engine. Need to find that leak and change the hose it's running out of. You get gas to the carburetor by gravity and vacumn from the engine. With a broken hose you loose all gravity effects and vacumn that would pull the gas to the carburetor.

Homelites from the beginning of time have spilled mixed gas down over the cylinder head by the spark plug from the gas cap. Then you go out and cut massive amounts of wood and all the sawdust swirls around the head, sticks to the oily gas residue and sooner or later it builds up in the cooling fins surrounding the cylinder head. This causes the chainsaw to run hotter because it can't cool efficiently and the gas tank is right there close to the head and cylinder so it absorbs a lot of extra heat, so much so that i've seen the gas inside the tank literally boiling hot which forces it out of the gas cap vent and spills more oily gas mixture over the head to accummulate more sawdust and cause more overheating. Care should be taken not to overfill the gas tank. Keep the saw and cylinder head clean of buildup so it can run cooler and change gas tank caps often so that you have a clean vent incase you do build up pressure.
