Question about 2004 Yamaha XT 660 R
My 04 660 raptor runs great until its hot and humid out then it starts back fireing out the exhaust and finally stalls out and wont start for awhile had carbs cleaned and re jetted still cant figure it out also have after market supertrapp exhaust on it thats only after market parts that i know of think it might be floodig itself out thats why it takes so long to start back up also will still backfire if you try to start it after stalling
When its hot and humid you could be having a ignition coil or cable problem.check cables and replace plugs, then take it from there. have your ignition coil tested also. backfiring is a sure sign of an ignition problem
