Are you loosing engine coolant? sounds like a head gasket problem see if there is water in the oil it will make the oil milky white if there is water in it. pretty hard to diaganose the problem when I cant see it.

My pulsar 150,1yr old engine heat over , iam fitting plain metal sheet as engine gaurd, if this is the cause or not and shall I use this bike for long drives, I'm afraid because of the engine heat

Just cover it fully with thick glass-wool blanket, and enclose it in a thick wooden box. Then ride it at about 8KMPH; for at least 2 continuous hour. It will be the best I assume !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Concern about overheating

The engine runs hot anyway as long as its not stopping and the engine oil is good and at the right level it shoukd be ok,the mixture screw only affects the fuel/air mixture up to around 3000 rpm so while riding normally this will not affect the running at all,the main jet is the jet that controls the higher revs fuel/air mixture.presuming there are no other issues i.e running weak or rich then the main jet must be matched well to the engines fuelling needs

I have new pulsar 150 which run 2500 km's . I

Oil change intervals for motorcycles depend a great deal on your riding conditions and riding style. For lower-revving street bikes, I often change my oil about every 2000 miles (~3200 km). However, someone with a sport bike who regularly revs their engine closer to the redline, I would suggest a more frequent change interval. Off-road / dirt bikes should have their oil changed sooner because of the dusty conditions. The oil is still full of lubricants, but it is contaminated with dust and dirt that clogs the filter and eventually goes right into the engine, increasing wear. I can't offer much guidance for dirt bike oil change intervals.

I just noticed the oil level on my 950 Vstar is down almost a litre in 3800 kms. Is this normal?

Oil "use" on engines can vary widely, depending on the engine design and the conditions under which the motor has been run. VW, for example, considers 1 liter of oil consumption per 1600 km to be perfectly acceptable performance in its automotive engines--much to the chagrin of many car owners, who are used to motors that don't consume oil at even half that rate. In addition, sustained high-speed driving / riding will also tend to consume more oil, mostly because oil vapor is sucked into the engine as part of the emissions system.
After a long (300 km or more) highway run with my old XZ-550, I was always down about half a liter. I could ride much further than that around town and in low-speed riding without consuming any noticeable amount of oil, even when I started using synthetic oil, which had a tendency to leak past some of the motor's gaskets.
I would double-check with other V-Star owners, but I am personally not alarmed at the oil consumption that you have described, even with a relatively new, probably low-mileage motorcycle.

No start 09 Ultra Classic Electra Glide

Sounds like your charging system is not charging the battery.

Put a volt meter on the battery, run the engine up to maybe 2,000 RPM. The voltage must be at least 13.8V, but not more than 14.5.

If that is all OK, your battery is worn out, and is not holding sufficient reserve. It would need to be replaced.

ENgine heating

I dont think Zma has a water/oil cooling system,so no point of malfunctioning of radiator and components. and you said you have the oil too.  Ok let me give you some tips, that may help you out.
Check your engine oil level, make sure its upto the mark because if its less,it wont be working efficiently. And if its more, then as the bike reaches high temperature, the oil sump needs space to be grow. As the temperature increases the oil level too increases,so make sure its not more than the maximum level. How old is your machine?? If its too old then that may a problem with the piston rings.,so get it checked. Or their may be carbon accumalated on the engine head. Also go through the exhaust cleaning, your exhaust pipe may be choked.
