Question about 2013 Harley Davidson Sportster SuperLow
No start after replacing battery
Posted by Anonymous on
Does anything else electrical work (i.e. lights, horn, etc. etc.) if not you may have shorted out something and should check your Master fuse which is usually in line on your + battery lead. If other electrical items work check your other fuses and your starter relay. You may also want to check your battery terminals and make sure they are not carbonized. This would happen if the the original reason for replacing the battery was due to loose contacts that cause enough arching that it destroyed the battery terminal. If this is the case, chip, file, grind or sand off the carbonation to reveal the bare metal on the contacts. This is most likely to have happened to the neg. terminal since HD's are know for the neg. terminal getting loose. Hope this helps.
