If the crank seals were faulty your quad would'nt run at all,the problem must lie elsewhere,a complete strip down of the engine and gearbox is the only way to gain access to the seals

Hi i have aquired a loncin quad 125. it hasa few forward gears and reverse. the quad has no spark and i have replaced the lumb, ignition switch, cdi, coil and lead, regulator, and kill switch. there is

You have replaced it all except the problem part. The stator is a very weak part on most Chinese brands. The signal generator (coil outside the flywheel usually goes first. If you have a "peak reading volt meter this coil should put out 2-5 volts dc at cranking speed. It should also have some resistance reading(guessing in the 130 ohm range) when checked across the two leads with an ohmmeter. A dead one (open circuit) will have no reading at all.

if it just revs up the the centrifical clutch needs to be changed but if it doesnt then the trans or the rear end might be jamed or even locked up.

When i start the lt1042 cub cadet riding mower it smokes from the exhaust and oil is in the carb

sounds like the needle valve inside the carb has failed dumping gas into the crankcase and into the cylinder this overfills the oil and dumps it change the valve and seat change the oil a couple times add a fuel line shut off and run the carb out of gas when your done using it the newer fuel we get melts the rubber seal

Put oil in an it pours out tha oil plug is in so where could it be leakin from

Are you sure it's leaking out the oil plug ? or is it leaking from the oil filter ? sometimes the gasket to the oil filter sticks to the engine block and it will leak like a heck, let me know what year, make , model, engine size.

2000 tacoma 6-cyl, 120k miles, just developed knocking in motor when running at 500 rpm. scoping indicates noise in crank case. regular oil changes every 5k miles and easy driving style. any ideas?

You may have a sticky lifter in the engine. Your local auto parts store should have an oil additive to pour in the crankcase to help deal with this issue and this could occur due to economically priced oil used instead of a higher quality oil like Castrol or Mobil 1. I would also use a high mileage oil on oil changes - they have a seal swell added that will recondition engine seals and gaskets. Failing that I would take it to a reputable mechanic to see if you need a valve adjustment.

When changing the oil I was pouring the oil in fast and it started leaking out. The oil filter was tight and the oil pan screw was back on tight as well so what could it be?

When you change the oil filter, you need to put some oil around the rubber seal, it helps to seal the filter against the oil pan. Same thing happened to me.

1981 SUZUKI RM 125 ENGINE IS REBUILT BUT WHEN I STARTED IT THERE IS CASE OIL COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST

Assuming little Johnny did not pour oil in the crank when no one was looking, you must figure that there is a bad seal on the case halves. Did you fail to use a liquid gasket when assembling the case halves? Dirt on a surface? Did you not put in new crank seals?

If able, can you " burn out" Johnny's oil by riding all day? Does more oil get in the crank? If Johnny is not the culprit then the engine will need to be torn down. The need is to find the sealing problem and then fix it.

Please rate this solution. Thanks clarkbd!
