SOURCE: cant get a spark from ht leads on cb250 motor bike

Be CERTAIN the battery is good. Are all fuses good? Try brand new spark plugs. Disconnect the kill switch on the handle bar. Check the side stand kill switch for proper operation. Have the shop check the CDI ignition.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

SOURCE: Hi, I have a 1995 GL1500 and it has a slight light

Does the noise stop when in neutral with the clutch handle pulled in? If so it may be normal. I have a 1999 Honda Valkyrie (has the same engine setup as your wing) and it is noisey with the clutch handle released at idle, but the noise goes away when the clutch handle is pulled in.

Another thought.......Have you recently adjusted the valves? If not they may need adjusting.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: The valves are making loud ticking noise, thought

Double check the tolerances, a loose lock nut on a tappet can make noise. Some times a bad or missing exhaust o-ring can cause a ticking sound, make sure you remove the old exhaust gasket and install a new one.

I have a 2002 Mazda Protege5 that now has a loud, continuous metallic 'rattle' coming from the top, front of the engine. How can I locate the problem and how can I fix it?

code p0660 refers to intake manifold tuning valve , bank 1 --circuit open===causes --wiring---intake tuning valve

code p0302 refers to cylinder 2 --misfire detected ===causes --engine mechanical fault--wiring ignition /fuel system---injector---ECT/MAF sensor---ECM
form you description I suggest that you have a compression test done and check for a loose valve seat insert for no 2 cylinder
That would account for the rattle and loss of power and misfire for that cylinder

Loss of top end speed and loud engine noise

Well you might have loosened the exhaust or have bad compression from the pistons try some pressure tests and get the manual and read the specs Other than that it could be a minor repair

When going over bumps even at a speed of 10mph we get a rattle noise in the front end of our 2007 hyundai elantra. it started at about 46,000 miles and it was just on the right side and now its on both. ...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to check the suspension of the vehicle. Check the arms, rods, axle, boots, ect. You may have something loose down there. If this is the case, you would probably feel it at highway speeds also. You may have something in the engine loose also. Maybe a tool left or something loose. You need to try and pinpoint the exact location of the noise. If it is associated with both sides of the vehicle, you need to jack the car up and check the front end suspension. It can be a host of things.

I have mucuni flat top sliders smooth bore they rattle when idling is that normal

If you can hear your Mikuni carbs "rattling" evidently you have changed the air box on your bike. The stock air box does two things, filter the air going into your engine and quieten intake noise. If you've changed or modified your air box in order to get better performance, you'll have to learn to live with more intake noise. The "rattle" you hear is really not a rattle. It is the "intake pulse" of each piston sucking air into the cylinder. Even at idle speeds, it does this so fast at to make it sound like a rattle. At higher speeds, it's so fast that you can't hear it most of the time. If the bike is idling at 1000 RPM, envision the piston moving up and down in the cylinder 1000 times a minute or 16 times a second. Every other time is an intake stroke, 8 times a second.

4.3 vortec engine , engine noise, knocking or tapping on top of engine, not when cold , but starts noise when it heats up, and gets louder as it gets hotter and hotter!!! Sounds like noise is in the center...

The knocking or ticking is going to determine if it is in the top end, lifters, push-rod or rocker arm issue or the bottom end that would include pistons or bearings.
If it is a ticking noise, it will more than likely be a valve train issue.
If a knocking noise, piston or crankshaft related problem.

Attached is a web site that you can listen to a piston slap which is a known issue for your 4.3.
Listen to the noise and see if it sounds similar to your problem. A piston slap will generally sound as though it is coming from the central area of the engine.
Listen to the recording and let me know.

Try checking the heat shield on your exhaust system. You should have one over the manifold and one over your cat converter under the car.
