Sounds like you need to replace the rubber in the caliper.

I have 09 buick lacrosse and my brakes lockes up what could cause this

Could be caliper/s or brake hose/s. Easiest way to tell is release the brake hose from the caliper. If it releases, the hose is clogged/collapsed. If it doesn't it's the caliper.

Front breaks lock up,while driving, park for a few minutes, breaks are fine

Could be that the callipers are jamming or the wheel is running tight. Check for wheel spin with the front wheels off the ground, they should spin with minimum effort. Could also be something wrong with the master cylinder. It may not be releasing properly and slowly building pressure to lock the brakes. After sitting for a while, it returns to normal position and releases the brakes. Mt Ford had a dud wheel bearing which would intermittently start to seize. When this happened, the anti lock braking system thought that the wheel was about to lock and would throw the brakes on and off without warning... Check your wheel bearings too.

Left front tire locks up when weight is applied. Works when both tires are off the ground and free wheeling. Also the brake caliper seems to not release the pressure when the brakes are released.

you probably have a seized wheel bearing/hub assembly or frozen brake caliper - you can remove the wheel hub/bearing assembly yourself in about an hour with common hand tools (an impact wrench will really speed this up) - you can rent the wheel nut removal socket at most auto parts stores - you will have to have an automotive shop with a bearing press to remove and replace the wheel bearing ($30-$60) - if the caliper is seized - replace the entire assembly (and probably the ruined brake rotors and pads)

Jeep liberty front brakes lock on ?

is it both wheels? check the line going to the wheel or wheels that are locking up, if there is any sign of a fluid leak replace the line. when they leak they will apply enough pressure to lock the brake, but will not release the pressure there for it stays locked

I have a 96 isuzu rodeo,3.2 and the brakes will lock up on their own, gradually then it takes about 15 minutes for them to release, any thoughts?

this could be caused by a few things, first you need to jack the truck up you will need all 4 wheels off the ground, put the transmission in neutral and have some one get in the truck and wile turning each wheel have the person in the truck push the brake pedal the wheel should stop instantly then have the person release the brake the brake should release instantly,( do this to each wheel ) if all brakes remain locked ( wont release instantly ) then replace the master cylinder if the both rear brakes wont release instantly replace the brake hose from the frame to the rear differential, if the both front brakes wont release replace master cylinder, if only one front brake wont release open the bleeder on that brake caliper if the wheel releases replace the caliper hose if the brake still wont release with the bleeder open replace the caliper, you should replace the caliper and brake hoses as a pair.

How do I release the lock on my Craftsman belt sander to lighten the belt. It's an old Model # 315.1172

I checked Searspartsdirect.com for that model number and they listed that number, but with an extra 0 at the right end. I couldn't find a belt release lever illustrated anywhere like that on my old Craftsman belt sander. On mine, you just flipped the lever either forward or back to release and tighten the belt. (still works great) There is a spring that pushes the front roller assembly forward when the lever is operated.

The front wheels on my Maclaren XLR keep locking up

Hi,

When you click the wheel release (to make them go onto swivel mode) press a little harder as it sounds like you haven't fully engaged the release mechanism.

I hope this helps.

Rear wheel won't turn when pedaling

hi there,

put your bicyles on upside down position, wheel should on top so you can work freelywork on ,then rotate the pedal to check what the problem it should be freely rotating, check break pads if it was engage even w/o pressing control.release brake cable wire to loosen.if not in the break, check the sprocket gear if connecting to the chain belt, check your sprocket release lock,if damage replace sprocket, check the bearing of the two wheel center shafting if worn out replace bearing,on front wheel there are two quick release nuts, loosen and pull out wheel and loosen all nuts and lock plate bearing, pull out shafting with the bearing, examine mostly bearing worn out also shafting in some occasion its worn out also, possible if you want replace one set center shafting and bearing ts not costly,on rear wheel with sprocket it different to disconnect, beacause there is sprocket, you should dismantle the locked plate and lock nuts of sprocket before the shafting assymble same procedure now on front wheel when after disconnecting sprocket on rear wheel.hope this will guide you and solved your problem have anice day.

Problems with releasing front wheel lock

I have just fixed my stroller which had a similar problem. The wheel was still swivelling but it was sticking slightly. I noticed that the pin that locks the wheel in place was half out and therefore the wheel was getting caught on it. I undid the nut that holds the end of the wheel lock cable in place and tightened this as tight as I could which pulls the pin back into place (making sure that the switch is in swivel position). I then put the washer and nut back on (making sure cable was as tight as possible).
