Clicking sound on start-up.

Hi, I have a 1994 1200 Sportster in perfect condition. I went to start it today and heard a click, click click sound but it didn't turn over. I had to push start it. Is this the battery, the starter or something else? Thank you in advance.

A clicking sound means there was enough electric power to engage the solenoid, but not enough to turn the starter. battery is low

only thing i can think of trying is to use the key to lock and then unlock the drivers door, this will disarm the security system/engine immobilizer

When I drove home from work friday everything fine. When I went to start teh car today I just get clicking sound does not turn over. Radio and lights work. 2006 Sonata.

Battery is too low to turn the engine over. Get it jumped and drive it to AutoZone. They will run a free diagnostic and tell you whether it's the battery or the alternator.

2004 Harley sportster, I was gone for three weeks and came back to start my bike but just heard a clicking. All the lights and blinkers are working properly, could it still be the battery? or is there...

yes, it could be the battery. Your turn signals don't take anymore than about 5 amps to run. To start your bike, it takes about 200 amps. Take your battery out and take it to an automotive parts store. Ask them to load test the battery for you. This is usually free and it'll tell you the condition of your battery. Odds are, that's your problem.

Good Luck

Eight days ago 2005 Suburban would not start. Made a clicking sound when I tried to start it. Jumped the battery seemed fine. Today same thing. Made clicking sound, jumped, started up. Went and bought...

Even a new battery will go dead if the car is running on the battery instead of the alternator.
Check alternator output.
First charge the battery up.
Then check voltage with a meter from Harbor Freight ($3).
Should be 12.5.
The start engine and rev it up.
Should go over 14.
But also clean and grease battery terminals, alternator terminals, and check engine ground strap.

Last week, my 1998 Lexus ES300 wouldn't start (clicking sound) and I thought it was the battery. I jump started it but noticed that it still made the clicking sound, for my first couple of tries, it did...

If car wont start and clicking sound is heard this is a battery related or starter related, if your car battery is in good condition (which I think it was) then the problem is your starter, have it check to confirm.

this is most likely the sustainer board(s) problem. Replacing the sustainer boards should correct this problem for you. you can get the parts at vancebaldwin.com

Clicking

I have the same mixer. Make sure the bowl is firmly latched into the base. also, make sure the bowl didn't get bent in shipping. If the paddle hits at a regular timed interval, it's must likely a problem with the way the bowl seats. As long as you don't hear a loud hit verses just a click, it shouldn't be a problem, just an annoyance. In time, you will probably heat tapping when you use the wire wisk. I am glad I bought mine. I hope you enjoy the difference a good mixer makes.
