How can I replace fuel gauge?

You did not post the year make and model but the fuel sender unit is in the tank and it can be dangerous and laborious to replace. You have to drain the tank, unhook fill tubes, lower the tank, unhook the fuel lines (takes special tools) remove the cover, replace the unit, replace the seal, put the cover back, put the lines back, put the fill tubes back. This might mean using a jack to raise and lower it and all the time not cause an explosion or fire. It is not a one person job.

Stored 2007 Toyota solara turns over great but won't fire

when store a vehicle with ethanol gas the gas can evaporate and the gas gauge can get stuck. first see if it has a fuel filter. if it does change it and then you need to go to the fuel valve. take the cap off and take a small flat head screw driver press in on the fuel valve. if fuel comes out and it does not crank then you have a firing issue. make sure after you change the fuel filter to cycle the key 4 times to the on off position so the filter can fill up with fuel. if that does not work then you have a firing problem. you may need to put some good gas in on top of the old fuel.

Assuming the car is getting fire from the coil and dist., I would put a shot of starter fluid in the throttle body and see if it starts, You may have a plugged fuel filter or fuel pump. I would also check the cat and muffler to be sure they are not plugged. If they are the back pressure on the engine will not allow the fuel into the cylinders and thus not fire the engine. Hope this helps.

Turns over but wont start

try this , turn key on without trying to start and listen for humming sound coming from tank. would be better to have someone listen around gas tank while you turn key. if no noise or humming this may indicate that fuel pump is bad.....check fuses first...if you find that this isent the case then check the fireing system, eastest way is check to see if spark plugs are getting fire......after checking this fill free to contact me for more info.....good luck..

1999Jeep cherokee leaking gasoline from top of the tank

From what I can uderstand, the leak is coming from where the filller neck attaches to the tank. If this is the case there should be a clamp that should be tightened. This should turn off the engine light. If engine light is still on check for a leak in the cap.
Other wise do not over fill the tank for fire issues.

What happen if u put bad,old gas in the tank ?the truck back fires doesnt want to start.we put treatment in the gas tank .it was shanking .but now it wont start.

Try putting an octane boost in the fuel. Old gas evaporates and looses all octane. If you filled an empty tank you may have kicked up debris and it got carried through your fuel system. Also if you put in dirty fuel. Check your spark plugs for fowling and your engine could also be flooded.

Thee new fuels today go bad after around 3 weeks because of the ethonol content. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank see if that helps clean it out. Best bet is to drain the tank put new fuel in it with a can of Sea Foam, then give it a good long run until the tank is empty. Re fill the tank and put the correct amount of Stabil in the with the gas, this will stop the gas from turning into sugar and it works for years.
Good luck

Gas gage not working, gas tank seems full but it is not

You will need to remove the fuel tank from the truck and replace the fuel pump/fuel level sensor module that is inside the fuel tank. Use extreme caution when doing this as there is a real fire hazard.

No fire from coil to #1 cylinder

Ok since you did all that if you want to swap around fuel injectors taking note where you put cylinder 1 injector. Lets say you swapped it with cylinder 4 . Now if you get a different code say P0304 which is for cylinder 4 misfire then you know it is your injector at fault. These are wear items and should be replaced every 100,000 miles.
Also i would suggest if you dont want to do that is get some good high octane gas when you are completely empty and fill to 1/4 tank now put in Lucas Oil fuel injector cleaner and run the car till empty. Now fill up tank with high octane gas in see if this helps. Clear code after your second tank of gas and see if the code comes back. if code does pop back up then i would do the swapping of injectors as i stated earlier. I hope this helps and good luck with the diagnosis.
