There is no bearing, take off the cover and check the rotor screw, maybe you hear clutch, squeeze the clutch handle, if it is clutch the sound should go away, many bikes have this sound and it is normal.

02 alero olds, makes rattling or buzzing sound when i accelerate. What could this be. sound seems to come from driver side undercarriage

Noises such as what you describe can be associated with wheel bearing, drive shaft or brakes.

The rattling noise could be a loose brake-backing plate and the buzzing noise caused by it touching a spinning brake rotor.

However, it could also be a worn drive shaft/constant velocity joint, which is the usual culprit.

The only real course of action you have is to give a mobile mechanic a call or take the car to a workshop and ask them to investigate -it will take just a matter of minutes.

My 01 cougar makes a noise like a pump is going out or is clogged could someone told me it sounds like the ac, but it does it even when the ac is off your thoughts

there are several items running that can produce a noise
the water pump bearing will be a grumble or a tinny rattle , the idler pulleys will be a rattle, the ac pulley is on a bearing separate to the ac operation and is running all the time and the problem noise could be from that bearing
the alternator bearing will make a medium pitch rumble and if you have a viscous ( clutch hub) fan hub the bearings in it will produce a noise
an accredited mechanical shop will have a stethoscope and a good mechanic will be able to determine exactly where the noise is coming from

Sounds like a bad A/C compressor clutch. Does it change with the A/C on?

Honda 750 cbx fe rattle from alternator

Probably a cam chain. There are two adjustments on some of those bikes. Not a simple task and needs to be done right. Get a manual.

Mark II Grande cylinder head noise

Sounds like a bad rod bearing, no cure except a rebuild. I assume you do know the difference between spark knock and bearing knock.

93 s10 rattle/rotational grinding noise while stopped or accelerating close to the sound of a bearing that is bad. The rattle can be felt if you grap the steering column. Replaced power steering pump

Automatic or manual trans? Manual trans could be throwout bearing. Other moving parts at idle that have bearings - alternator, a/c compressor, water pump. Auto parts store or harbor freight sells stethoscope to listen to stuff like that. Use it to determine where sound comes from. Careful when using near moving parts.

My 1998 sebring 6cyl makes a metal on metal noise on the side of my engine by the belts i tried greaseing all the pullys and i used belt noise sparay but it becomes lower and then it becomes higher ???...

sounds to me from the brief description like you have either a water pump rattling, or a timing chain coming slack. Is the noise coming from the alternator? Never grease pulleys, ever. also the stop squeak spray is bad for your belts. Don't know why they even sell it. If you listen carefully you may be able to pin point the rattle. Is this a tick tick tick, or a rattle rattle rattle? Does sound like a water pump rattle or timing chain slap though. Hope this helps

I have just purchased a 1998 malabu with a 3.1 engine. It has a rattle when cold. Any ideas? I've been told not to worry.

IAC (IDLE AIR CONTROL) should be replaced. You will be amazed at the difference when you change it.

Rattle noise coming from belt

this could be a bad pulley or alternator, you will need to remove the belt and spin the pulleys by hand to see which one is making noise, it could also be the ac compressor pulley, start there.

it sounds like your alternator let go, therefore your battery is not charging, you will need to investigate further but the rattling would be explained by the alternator mechanically breaking internally and failing to charge the battery resulting in your present situation
