Hi Datprboi1

I think you may have an electrical problem connected to the radiator cooling fan as 215 F is about the temperature that this will start so as to cool the engine. So it may possibly be the fan motor or the sensor switch. Good Luck

Cooling fans kick on for a few seconds then cut off

The fan should work off of the water temp. The fan will come on and off to keep the constant temp on the cooling water. If equipped with a second fan it is probably for the AC and will run when the A/C is on. If you think the fan should be on. Then If you know where the fan relay is check to see if it is hot, if real hot the relay may be going bad. Hope you know this when you turn the car off the fan can still come on if the water temp is to high. My thought fan going bad, temp sensor or relay may be the problem.. If you can touch the fan motor metal housing and it is real hot the fan man be going bad, remember the blades can start at any time.

we your thermostat needs changing for sure. and the temp sensor if its saying that should be at between 80-90 fan kicks in at 93. if pipe is popping off would also change the expansion tank cap as well as this is supposed to release pressure on the system.

There is 2 coolant Temp sensors on a 96. One in the front by the thermostat, one in the same linear location but towards the back of the motor. Same part, came connector. Look back there and replace that one as well.

Ford festiva, production date 10/88,fuel injected, does the A/C wiring harness have anything to do with the cooling fan,not the condenser fan operating?I know when you turn the A/C on the engine cooling fan...

Hi,
I dont believe so. Your cooling fan kicks on by a signal from the temperature sensor. The signal goes to the PCM which in turn sends a voltage to activate a relay which powers up the fan. Most fans are 2 speed and when the A/C is used, a second relay kicks the fan into high gear. So, your fan should run at some point after the engine reaches/exceeds operating temperature regardless of if your A/C is on or not. If it does not come on, check your relays first. (you can swap them around to check them) and then your temp. sensor. You can apply direct voltage to the fan itself to check that the fan motor is working. Hope that helps!

My furnace runs on and off nonstop, and won't reach the set temp unless i run the fan in on. what's the problem?

It is one of two things either the high limit is tripping because it is faulty or the fan isn't kicking on soon enough or the fan limit is faulty not coming on when it is supposed to.

Medion fan

The fan is probably running at high speed because the Case or Processor are overheating (you didn't mention which fan it it) and that is what the fan is supposed to do, and setting it to rev. higher at a higher temp is only going to shorten the life of your unit.
Why not clean the dust from your heat syncs, boards, and fans? As dust is usually the culprit causing the high temperature in the first place, and is 10 to 20 times worse in a smoking environment.
